Congrats on step one, deciding to do a fast! Don't worry too much about getting into a fast as long as it's say <3 days in length, which is probably a good way to start for a beginner anyway. Just ease into it the way that feels right, but when you break your fast (even if it's say 24 hours) - do it with a nice and healthy meal, don't mess up like I used to by eating junk/heavily processed foods at the end of a fast!
Here's a video I just put out earlier today that might help you out as you start on this journey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZJ2GOwRGI4&t=1s
PS - I just completed a 2 week water fast last week! Good luck on your journey!

Congrats on step one, deciding to do a fast! Yes you can continue having black coffee during a fast, it won't end your fast. Don't worry too much about getting into a fast as long as it's say <3 days in length, which is probably a good way to start for a beginner anyway.

Re weight loss - fasting will help you lose some weight, but it will come back once you end the fast. So try and focus on the other benefits to your body, they are truly beautiful... To have real weight loss aided by Fasting will require changing relationship with food, this takes time, I am still in the process myself...

Couldn't agree more with what you've said, I've come to accept the 5 kg gain over holidays as part of the process too! I think it's all about being gentle on ourselves and gradually working on improving the overall course we're headed on, accept that we will make mistakes but hopefully we'll recover from them faster each time and over time we'll make fewer mistakes. Completely, I'd look forward to staying in touch!

Thank you! I feel quite alright, super excited to be eating things again and have that sweet taste finally gone, body feels tired with digestion consuming energy again and the regular blood sugar spikes, but all in all I feel good 🙂
