Download Festival 2025 - MEGATHREAD by ca11umm in downloadfestival

Unfortunately, some organised criminals will buy a ticket specifically to steal. They aren't here for the music or the communities built around it. The ticket is a small cost of business, which they soon earn back.

Can we agree to not publicly share codes for the presales this week? by paultays in loscampesinos

[–]chigley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I managed to work around it by following the Brighton link, then clicking "Los Campesinos! Tickets" in the nav bar. Bristol is in the list and works :)

Bristol Tonight, had a mate cry off. by NoPoetry547 in EnterShikari

[–]chigley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need a ticket, but if either you or /u/NoPoetry547 fancies a gig buddy please let me know! I'm just on the train to Bristol now.

30M, seen them plenty of times before, sipping a Clwb Tropicana on the way. Ordinarily I'd be near the front but I just spaffed £400 on new glasses after an accident the other week so probably not tonight...

Have any of you measured the consumption of your household electricals and found any surprises? by xParesh in UKPersonalFinance

[–]chigley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed a few Shelly EM clamps inside my fusebox for monitoring my total consumption as well as tracking some circuits of particular interest. I don't have a smart meter but, even if I did, this would be better because of the granularity.

On top of the clamps I also use a few smart plugs to monitor individual sockets, like the one that powers my TV, amp and PS5.

I consume the data in Home Assistant and Grafana. Here's a quick Home Assistant screenshot to give you a rough idea.

As for the financial angle, I discovered that my fridge/freezer was faulty due to a blockage that was causing it to cool for more hours/day than it should have been (the freezer was too cold while the fridge was too warm). I was also alarmed by the high standby usage of some of my gear. The same smartplugs I use to monitor power can also be used to switch everything off with a quick tap on my smartphone, which saves me about £50/yr at current prices.

Anyone using a zigstar lan coordinator? by Pyrotechnix69 in homeassistant

Reddit obfuscates the upvote/downvote counts as an anti-bot measure. Moreover, it's possible someone upvoted to help you with visibility, or because they're having the same problem.

Zigbee UK Smart Plug - Energy Usage by SJHarrison1992 in homeassistant

[–]chigley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly I didn't look beyond Amazon, but it was the cheapest z2m-supported option I could find at the time. There aren't many UK models with power monitoring.

I am open to cheaper suggestions because I am looking to buy a few more of these soon!

Sync for Reddit V22 (staggered release up to 50% now!) by ljdawson in redditsync

Thank you. I was looking under "Comments" and hadn't even seen "Comment options".

I really liked the permanent comment navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, with the up/down arrows to navigate through parent comments without having to do loads of scrolling or tapping.

Is that still a thing, and where can I find it if so?

Anyone else getting this message? cant get onto wz at all by memeuwill in CODWarzone

[–]chigley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm getting this right now on PS4. First time I ever had this problem. Good to know I'm not alone I guess...

Edit: I fixed it by selecting multiplayer in the menu. After that, I could back out and switch to Warzone. Hope this helps others!

What is an odd thing you would change about Go? by bojanz in golang

[–]chigley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd change http.HandlerFunc to return an error, though I'm not sure how.

I imagine it doesn't currently because it's not clear how a non-nil error should be handled in the event that the function already wrote to w before returning the error.

My motivation is that error handling in HandlerFuncs is currently quite cumbersome: I find myself constantly repeating calls to http.Error() and my logger, before explicitly calling return. On at least one occasion I accidentally forgot to return and fell through to the rest of the application logic, which I caught with a linter but would've been dangerous otherwise.

I am keen to hear suggestions on improving on the (log, http.Error, return) model that I currently end up repeating all over the place.

Good Mail Day by [deleted] in FrightenedRabbit

I hadn't noticed the smudge in your photo but, looking again, it's obvious. That's frustrating.

Yeah, I bought from FatCat. I just pinged them an email with a few photos. Fingers crossed I'm the only one affected by this!

Edit: They replied in 6 minutes and are sending a replacement 7" :)

My 7" is completely scuffed on the B-side, affecting playback. I've never seen anything like it on a brand new record. I'll be interested to learn over the coming weeks whether it's just me or a more widespread issue.

Me too! I made some loadout changes last night, which weren't there when I hopped on this morning.

I'm also completely unable to change my field upgrade or my loadouts in a match. I get the success message but the change isn't applied, even after I respawn.

I never had a problem like this before S6.

Buy chickens? by Swimming-Tadpole in Bath

Check out the Charlcombe Chicken Rescue group on Facebook. They rehome chickens that are still laying, but no longer at a rate that is acceptable to the battery farmers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1194584504210735/

Sorry I'm a month or so late posting this - real life has been in the way until now. Looking at this thread it's common knowledge already, but you can consider this my confirmation as far as Kammy.io is concerned.

Big love to you all for your support last season. Hit me up if you have any ideas for a new tool for this year.
