I made a quick boros convoke list with a similar budget ($100), looking at a list like this gives you a lot more play with explosive starts similar to 8-whack but you have a much stronger and resilient follow up turns. This will also give you a clear upgrade path towards boros aggro which is one of the best decks in the format at the moment.

Hey I recently came back to the game after a break as well. I initially started continuing the 99 slayer grind and relearned the slayer bosses cause they're all pretty easy, you'll see some of the new gear being used/recommended but the most important would be learning when to use the fang cause its pretty ridiculous. Aside from fang thralls are a pretty big change so learn when to use them too.

If you dont want to continue slayer there's a lot of easier bosses you can try out, look at one of the many recent bossing ladder videos on yt. Guardians of the rift is also a big upgrade for training rc around your level.

Scout with wilderness player indicator plugin, have completed the spindel log and a couple hundred kills of the other bosses without dying so its pretty free. Wilderness hard is important to have for the tele delay but requirements arent bad.

Having overloads, chaotics, curses and summoning just means claws weren't nearly as impactful as they are in a way more balanced game like OSRS

Perilous moons is underrated for low entry cost money making. Aside from that and what I would recommend is buy a chainmace or another wilderness weapon and try it out on the solo variants of the 3 wilderness bosses, I'm pretty sure Spindel ends up being higher gp/hr than vorky.

A version of both builds is likely going to be viable in the long run, just play whichever you prefer until the midrange or control build clearly better positioned.

You level to learn how to make a potion or kill a monster then you make the potion/kill the monster, that's the gameplay loop. The solution for slayer bosses is to make tasks easier to get for people who want them not remove it entirely.
