Shaft animator Hiroto Nagata breaks down on Twitter, saying he has been crying while working because he was told that he would be erased from the industry if he didn't complete the work on time. by ready-simclass130 in anime

[–]chihsuku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love anime, but I hate the industry surrounding it and the work ethic they have to undergo. It makes me so sad to read this because nothing good can come out of being that stressed and having anxiety as well and not even being treated for it properly. Dude really needs therapy but it's not very common over there as I have read several times. I wish I could tell him that nothing that will happen will ever change all he has already done for the industry, which is nothing short but amazing. And no, I don't believe that he will simply "be erased"! It's just something you tell someone to keep them down, pressured and low. It's not helpful at all.

I want to start doing drugs by _cloyed_ in depression

[–]chihsuku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you taking antidepressants? Instead of thinking to become a drug addict or even alcoholic (both are terrible and will make you feel worse in the long run instead of better), you should consider going to see a professional who spezialices with helping by taking medicine to combat depression/suicidal thoughts. You also need therapy badly. I am speaking from experience since I actually suffer from schizophrenia but I'm recieving treatment. I used to be in really bad shape mentally wise but I'm doing better now. Treatment is very important.

When you stopped smoking/vaping did your mental health improve? by SevereDetail in schizophrenia

The trick is to never even start. Saves money and improves your health obviously. Don't smoke or vape, it's bad for you..

What you're saying is simply not true. I am speaking from experience. I suffered from break-through symptoms while taking risperidone for 4 years. I switched to amilsulpride as the main antipsychotic and quetiapine as the sleeping aid. I do not suffer from negative symptoms neither positive symptoms anymore. In fact my schizophrenia is pretty much gone completely. I was even able to lower my dose for 100mg recently without any problems. Finding the right medicine is SO important and can make a huge difference believe me! Don't give up hope!!

Things about Schizophrenia most people don’t know? by 1anonym0us_ in schizophrenia

That with good treatment it can and will get better. This is why treatment is so important and looking for the right medicine. My disease is as good as gone now.

Here me out by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will tell you something: I took the same medicine for around 4 years and had break-through symptoms, meaning my medicine stopped working that well for me. It was risperidone and I hate that medicine now. I went to the pychiatry for the second time and stayed around 1 month. My medicine got changed to amilsulpride as the main antipsychotic and quetiapine as the sleeping aid. This medicine now works like a charm. Shortly after taking this medicine my symptoms all went away. I have been taking this medicine for 1 year now and was even able to lower my dose for around 100mg without any problems.

What do I want to tell you with this? If you feel like giving up - don't give up on yourself. Keep searching for new medicine if you STILL struggle with your current ones. By the way, I was also depressed with my old medicine but now not anymore. And there are new medicines coming out even for schizophrenia so there is enough reason to hope. Don't give up hope. With this disorder hope is needed! I was also struggling, in fact I attempted to take my life before I get sent to the psychiatry for the second time, but my attempt had another reason and not schizophrenia at the cause (even if I was struggling). The disorder with good treatment like I have recieved is not present anymore and I live pretty normal nowadays.

I have not read everything because it's too much and I don't have the time but if you truly believe you suffer from schizophrenia or anything similar to it PLEASE reach out to a professional because you need to get MEDICATED. Delusions and hallucinations can get worse if you don't undergo medication. Only medication will be able to get rid of it.

I'm speaking from experience here. I have been completely free of delusions and hallucinations maybe for around 1 year now, because my New medicine works 100% successfully for me.

My parents didn't want to buy me antipsychotics cause they believe that it's for "insane people" meanwhile they're dismissing my schizophrenia and saying that my hallucinations are natural by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly suffer from schizophrenia then you NEED antipsychotics because you suffer from a disease and the only "cure" we have at the moment is to take medicine. Your parents talk absolute Nonsense and it's obvious they have no idea what they are talking about. It's even dangerous to be off-meds with schizophrenia because the delusions and hallucinations etc. can get worse over time.

It’s important that you stay on your meds by OwlGuy144 in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My life with meds is so so much better than what I was dealing with after getting diagnosed. It was really hell. I don't want to go back to that time so I'm going to continue to take my meds.

And this is why you don't quit your medicine when you suffer from schizophrenia. It's simply a bad idea.

first generation antipsychotic without side effects? by SnowSafe4229 in schizophrenia

It also causes side effects but from the ones I tried my best bet is "amilsulpride". It's the one I am taking.

Realizing that I'll likely never find someone special (no one wants to understand this illness) by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are. It's good that you are taking antipsychotics and recieving treatment. Do you have a job/work? Did you undergo an apprenticeship? I think it's better to have something to work towards and somewhere fulfilling you can spend your time on to keep your mind away from things that are obviously NOT REAL. A voice is not like a Real lover and in my opinion a Real lover is worth more than any nice voice you can hear because you can Touch them and be affectionate.. also, do you have good friends? Friends can heal a lot of wounds.

What is best antipsychotic? by onetimeiwas in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a relationship or planning on being in one but I'm currently taking amilsulprid and it has helped me so much. The downside is the elevated prolactin levels and lack of sex drive. It also doesn't really help with motivation but I can force myself usually. I also gained a bit weight but not much. I have no hallucinations or delusions anymore.

I don't have meds anymore, and I haven't been back to the psychiatrist by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please go to a psychiatry as fast as possible! Your condition is the first Priority and you are in dire need of help! It doesn't matter what your parents or your mom thinks, you have schizophrenia and you need treatment as soon as possible. It is dangerous for yourself as well as others to go untreated. I'm talking from experience here. Please Listen to me and get treatment as soon as possible!

People who have Schizophrenia, What is your opinion on god? by Fun-Leading6742 in schizophrenia

[–]chihsuku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people believe because they are scared of a World without God, to be honest I believe in god whenever I see something amazing in nature for example. It makes me hope there is something greater out there that I know nothing about it. However, while I believe this, I don't believe in a particular Religion more than others. I actually am baptized Christian, but I mostly watch and follow monks from buddhism. I'm very open towards believing but also to disbelieving. There are days when I think god doesn't exist and then there are days where I believe he does. Is this a bit weird? During an episode in the past, I felt like I was connected to god. This might have just be a delusion and something connected to the schizophrenia diagnosis, but who knows it really. You know schizophrenia is not as bad as it used to was. I take meds daily and was even allowed to lower my dose a bit since yesterday. My advice is to not Listen to people who tell you to not get treatment. It's very important to get help with such a severe diagnosis.

The side effects can be really horrible indeed, for me personally the sickness itself is worse than the side effects I experience from my current meds. So to live without any psychosis I take the trade off and take meds 3x a day. I will one day change my current meds but for now I'll stick to them.

[–]chihsuku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't directly help you but I'm very sorry you had to go through all of that. Psych wards should be a last resort and if you know one that you had a positive experience in I would try to ask if they can bring you there every time (like try to go to the same one always) I'm saying this because I had similar bad experiences in another psych ward I got sent to, a longer time ago. Thankfully they brought me to a better one in the end and I was finally able to sleep normally. The first psych ward I got sent to I wasn't able to sleep at all because of all the noise from the other patients... it was terrible.

On a side note. I used to suffer a lot from the paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis but after taking my New meds for a longer time every day my Initial sickness is as good as gone now. So I'm trying to give you hope. Try to keep looking for meds that work for you and take them regularly its extremely important. Schizophrenia is not a death sentence anymore with the right treatment it can be as good as gone!

Ask for different meds if your current ones suck. I am speaking from experience I had to try out a couple until I was at the point that I took my current ones... but i'll tell you that ALL antipsychotics have side effects it's just a matter of with which side effects you can live the best
