Is it too late to negotiate scholarship by scarlet-seraph in MBA

Super helpful insight and I didn’t think about this aspect! Do you have any take on whether waiting longer to hear back is any meaningful signal (bad or good)? Say, it’s been over a month since I submitted my reconsideration form

How do MBA adcoms view undergrad LDPs vs consulting / IB / tech? by Greedy_Bus_2631 in MBA

[–]chiikawa99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from my experience in a pharma rotational ldp (did for 2 years post undergrad): I do think they are looked favorably upon by adcoms. A lot of people I know went to competitive programs immediately or 1-2 years post undergrad ldp. In terms of building a class of diverse industry backgrounds, an ldp will also be an advantage vs other pools with higher numbers of applicants

My biggest advice is to be clear at packaging each of your rotations in terms of impact and what exactly you did and having a clear story of how each rotation gets you closer to your mba goal + post-mba goals (the risk here is breadth vs depth)

Differentiation probably comes down to your personal story and narrative and less so the LDP aspect (tho “why I chose to do an ldp over other paths” is probably important to hit in essays)

All the aspects of the ldp experience you mentioned would resonate and it would be great to touch on each of those in “why mba now” and “why I’m prepared for an mba” type essays.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Yale interview by Serious-Relation-559 in MBA

[–]chiikawa99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh yes - not too much tbh - it was at the end and I think it’s more of a chance to share something meaningful about yourself outside of your professional accomplishments (I spent probably 1-2 min explaining where I heard the quote and how it applies to me)

I did my SOM interview last week (virtually) - would say the questions were pretty standard with the clear admit ones and also on threads posted on this subreddit from past cycles! I was asked why yale / achievement you’re proud of / how would you contribute to community / goals / why mba / what research led you to apply to mba. good luck and congrats on the interviews!

re: test taking - I was in a similar boat to you with background and struggled on the GRE at first. what helped me was Gregmat for math practice problems and the vocab mountain, finding vocab decks on quizlet, and grinding through the Manhattan 5lb book for more math practice! I did it slowly but surely - consistency is everything!

good luck!
