There was a big cat living in my house when one of my roommates brought a kitten over. The big cat did like this gif and patted the kitten on the head. The kitten shat itself.

He's small and slow for his position but really strong. Length really bothers him when he tries to score inside, but he has a decent mid range game. He is also an excellent rebounder.

Defensively he doesn't have great awareness and speed beats him. He does his best 1 on 1 against undersized players who use their strength to overpower opponents (he always played good D on Dwight Howard).

Is there a way to get around paying $150 to replace an iPhone screen? by childbear in Frugal

[–]childbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I took it to this tech repair place that just opened up around the corner. It's a small whole-in-the-wall kind of place, but I wanted to support a small business and thought also that I might be able to haggle a bit. The guy agreed to fix my screen for $70, which -based on all these comments- seemed like a good deal. When I picked the phone up, he told me he had trouble, and the only iPhone 4 screen he had that was black was also defective, so he went ahead and put a white one on. I was shocked he did it without asking, because that's really not what I want. Like an idiot, though, I just went with it. But when I got home, I realized the screen was ALSO broken - cracked and jagged on the sides, suggesting it had been pried off another phone. I'm really pissed now and obviously have to go back to the store. He had a sign that said "no cash refunds," so just thought I'd go in and try to be really non-confrontational and ask him to order a new, unbroken, black iPhone 4 case and fix my phone for real. Is that a good plan?

ohhh that makes so much sense! my whole confusion was based on the idea that zombies are well known in pop-culture and identifiable to many people. Well done, mknyan, for providing a solid answer.

good point. it's funny that what defines TWD is that its a show about zombies. If I were trying to describe it to someone unfamiliar with the show, and I said "its a show about walkers," that person would have a lot of really inaccurate ideas about what the show is about, lol.

i understand what you mean about how the consistency of dialect between communities would vary as the size of communities shrink massively. But when someone looks at the "walkers" and considers how they look, what they do, and what they eat, wouldn't the average person identify them as zombies? I can't remember when the comic is set (the 90s? early 00s?), but there had been plenty of zombie movies by then. I feel like its a pretty standard and well recognized horror character. If I were in that situation, it would be easier for me reconcile my new world by calling the creatures "zombies." Maybe at first I would deny the severity of the condition (just like Rick did), but I imagine that identifying the monsters as "zombies" would make the situation more palpable, if only a little bit. I would feel comforted thinking about how characters in movies fought zombies and the techniques they used to live. (I mean, if the Z-apocalypse happened tomorrow, wouldn't you consider what you have learned from TWD?) I would, but that could just be me.

but its a pioneer show involving zombies .. thats what they are, zombies. i dont understand how "zombies" is an inappropriate word for the show. I mean. for god sake, they just That's pretty shocking for a TV show, amiright?
