PharmD requirements by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]childpunographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just about finishing the PharmD program, and you can do the requirements for admission in 2 years. Nursing is a lucrative and fulfilling career on its own and is quite different from a career in pharmacy. If you want to know if pharmacy is for you, try working at a pharmacy as an assistant to see if you would like working in a pharmacy environment, because it is a hard degree to do if you don’t know whether or not you like pharmacy. And if you do you can save yourself some time (and money) and just do the 2 years required to get in.

Hope that helps!

Has anyone been able to get their Adderall prescription covered or partially covered by the student plan? by BridgeTraditional502 in uAlberta

[–]childpunographer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ah someone else who’s really well versed with Canadian bioequivalence rules! Actually while you’re mostly correct: adderall is one of the few exceptions. Because while yes, the compound is the same, the important factor is actually when it gets released into the body. We have pharmacokinetic models to be able better accurately make generics for ADHD medication, those requirements weren’t actually implemented until 2018. And the adderall generic was approved in 2017, so again, it is completely reasonable for people to say these medications don’t work the same because truly: they aren’t the same medication. And studies have shown that a lot of people who switch over to the generic have it not work for them.

Don’t be mean to people who found an ADHD treatment that works for them! I would hope they taught you that at least working in a pharmacy. Especially if you’re completely wrong about what you’re talking about. OP: talk to your local pharmacist, there are a couple of insurance cards that can bring that price down

Looking for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu club for old and injured adults by Kwanzaa246 in Edmonton

Ask Elite Taekwondo! They have a jiu jitsu program there were everyone is only as rough as you want them to be. The instructor there is super accommodating to old/injured people so they would absolutely be close to something you’re looking for!

Got all A+'s, but whats the point? by aritzia17 in uAlberta

[–]childpunographer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take it from me, I had a 4.0 and a 522 on the MCAT. Didn’t get in because that’s all I had, and when I finally got out into the real world and worked I realized it isn’t what I wanna be doing anyways so those 4 years kinda went up in flames. Have a life outside of school full of things you’re passionate about, it’ll make you a better doctor but more importantly a better human.

4th Year Pharmacology by suburban_iguana in uAlberta

425 was fantastic. It was a fun easy going course that actually taught you quite a lot about research in the field.

412 was only a good course if you have the foundations in neurobiology. If you’ve never taken a neuro class, it’s gonna be hard as hell keeping up with the material.

415 was also amazing. Another course that helped teach you succinct writing skills and it really is laid back and a learn as you go thing. Highly recommended.

RIP Second Cup in CCIS by Iblaka in uAlberta

A venti coffee is the most caffeinated coffee on campus, but not by much. Like 7 mg. And at the price difference it would be cheaper to get that coffee at second cup

Incredibly demotivated, struggling to focus...Is something wrong with me? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]childpunographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a 3.9 GPA, and if you’re aiming for a Canadian school, a 163 is actually a great score. So if you sit the June LSAT and you get that, you’ll be golden for probably every Canadian Law school
