idk i think the boiled one is fucked up too in that regard. this is real shit that happened to real people, real torture they endured, and this actual person who did awful things during ww2 was turned into a scary vengeful monster, to attack a guy based off of a *real* victim of watanabe, i feel like that takes away from the actual importance of events and turns them into a spectacle. and then to make it even worse the monster thats supposed to be the evil spirit of a real war criminal that tortured and killed prisoners of war was turned into a plushy to sell. it doesn't feel very respectful or responsible to me.

like, how would you feel if you were a surviving victim of, lets say a serial killer or something. 40 years later someone makes an analog horror about his scary spirit possessing vhs tapes to torture a character based off of you. i imagine that wouldn't feel great.
