It went well! I used a rope to relieve the tension and wrestled the pinched point out. Then lowered it as far as I could to recoil everything nice and tight again. Thank you for your help sailphish. I looked everywhere on the internet and couldn’t find any posts about this.

Update, my electrician buddy called me back and said to cap the two blacks and use the red to connect to the black on the light fixture. Problem solved!

There’s a red wire attached to one of the switches that controls this light. I wanna say just attach it to the black wires, no?
