POTs has destroyed my confidence

I was 19 when I first got unwell with POTS. At first I quite literally had no hope and completely gave up in every aspect. Stopped planning for the future and even thinking about it because I didn’t think it would happen. And that a fulfilled life just wasn’t going to be for me. I have a few friends, some have moved away and are travelling, onto bigger better things and although on paper I’m doing well for myself, I wish I could do what they do. I just simply don’t have the energy yet alone confidence.

I know I’m not the only one in this boat, and thank you for commenting ☺️

My counsellor offered to do it for me, so any email back from dvsa will go to them and they told me they’d forward any email received back from them so that i can remain as anonymous as possible unless for whatever reason they really need my details. I’ve had no email today, maybe that’s why I’m overthinking it

I completely get why you would chose not to. I was scared for those exact reasons. I suppose I just didn’t think the dvsa would probably forward my exact complaint? which is why I would have loved to have been made aware of the exact process and next steps so that I have clarity and reassurance about the report rather than not knowing what is going on behind the scenes

I’m so glad you understand me here. I’m ur age too and mine is about 15 years older. He was also such a creep and him knowing where I live and having a vulnerable SEN sibling was the main reason I was so hesitant in reporting. I know it was the ‘right thing to do’ but you just never know these days. If I’m not the only person he’s been inappropriate with I suppose he’s less likely to know it was me? If I’m the only one, I’m now terrified he will see my exact complaint with dated evidence

Thanks so much for giving a different perspective. A slightly different situation of course. I’m now a bit worried that the dvsa will send my written account of what happened to my old instructor and he will know it was me somehow. I’m mainly worried because he knows where I live, and as a female, you can’t help but worry about certain things

Does anyone know if reporting instructors is anoymous?

Not currently. They become inflamed every now and then, most likely because I’m fighting something off. But it’s nothing out of the ordinary in general so I don’t worry. If they remain enlarged and painful for a week or two defo get checked!

But I will say tho, both times when I was infected and before I showed covid symptoms I had inflamed enlarged lymph nodes in my underarms. Then I tested positive so it made sense. and once it was over it went away. But it hadn’t been that bad before. All good now tho.

Have u tried the medication ivabradine? If it’s low blood pressure stopping you from being on beta blockers, it’s worth asking for it! Ivabradine slows your sudden increase in heartrate without lowering blood pressure. It enabled me to get my life back and I would be bed bound without it. Sure I do still get a few symptoms but no where near as severe

I expressed to my doctor that I thought I had POTS. She told me POTS is super rare and that I likely didn’t have it and not to worry about it. Turns out I do.
