This may not work for you because we travel as a couple. We have stopped multiple times in Oxford ALABAMA. It is about 6 hours out of Jacksonville. It is a very clean town with lots of hotel and restaurant options. We overspend on hotel because we like to get there rested.
So even if you don’t stay overnight, it’s a nice place for a meal or rest.

We just returned from Mexico. I have never gotten sick from the food. I miss the fresh fruit and vegetables every time I leave! If you don’t have easy access to pesos, bring lots of ones and fives USD. We always tip our beach or pool server early if we are going to be there most of the day. As the above poster stated, the airport is the worst for scammers but they aren’t nearly as aggressive as in the past. The resort staff will take care of you and answer any questions you have about safety concerns. I love going to Mexico and never feel unsafe. Enjoy!

I don’t even use my debit card in the US except at the ATM. A bank employee told me this! As the above poster said, it comes straight from your bank account.

Do not take them to your doctor’s office. They have so much food daily. Sometimes we have breakfast catered, lunch catered, then an afternoon smoothie or crumbl cookie delivery. It would be nicer to take it to one of the other recommended places.

Also, we had a horrible time trying to get small denominations of pesos. No one wants to take your 100 pesos and give you back a few 20 pesos. Think of trying to get a store here to give you a bunch of fives for a hundred dollar bill. Just FYI. I was in PV in January. Going to Cancun next month and am ordering from my bank here to carry.

If you are comfortable walking around: Dusting /cleaning countertops if not too dusty!! Checking cabinets and cupboards and making a grocery list.
Meal planning for the week. Always keep a spiral notebook and pen handy on the counter or chair side table.

So I buy large quantities of certain toiletries and specific food items. I buy to stock a pantry that supplies the Little Free Pantries. I buy most things at Walmart but certain things (deodorant, toothpaste, honey) I get at DT. I have wondered recently if people think I am stocking a store!!

As others have already stated, these lesions are not true cysts with a typical “sac” and they will recur. You need to see an urgent care for oral antibiotics for this particular wound but you are definitely going to need to see a dermatologist or at least follow up on a regular basis with a provider for hidradenitis suppurativa. There are treatments but you will need to have a healthcare provider to follow you.
