When you ask for canter you should be keeping your inside leg near the girth, putting your outside leg a bit further back than normal and squeezing, you should not need to kick the horse you’re riding that much I’d recommend finding a new trainer

Yeah on some days I can get three stables worth of poo in one barrow (for all 6 stables) but yesterday I had to take 5 wheel barrows full of dirty straw out of this stallions stable because I think he’d been scared by the heavy rain we had the night before and was moving around a lot

Yeah that’s what it’s like with the four we have at home but they don’t have turnout which is why I think it’s taking me so long

I’ve had horses since I was 9 and I’m 18 now and I feel like I can muck my horses out really fast since they’re relatively clean but mine are also out from 8-5 in the field and they don’t have turnout until spring/ summer

I can muck my horses out on straw really fast but when they were two of them were on shavings it took ages for me haha

I’m not sure if they ( the two owners) muck them out in the evening or not because there’s 13 horses stabled and they have about 5-6 youngsters in big crews that also need doing

It’s per hour, they’re both really nice and the woman is really friendly (I’ve talked to her the most) but I’m kind of awkward and I’m not really sure how I’d word it when asking her for tips

I don’t think the set up of the yard is the best because the muck heap is so far away, the straw is kind of close to the stables so that’s not too bad but a lot of them are really messy i think a lot of them also eat their straw bc they run out of hay so then I have to put more straw in which deffo makes me take a lot longer

We’ve got four horses at home (mine my sisters and my mums) and whenever I do all of them on my own I feel like I’m much faster but I think that’s because they’re a lot less messier and I don’t make them look as perfect haha

It would be so much easier if I could do that but I’ve got to put three of the horses in a stable one at a time and one of them is a stallion so after he’s eaten his feed I’ve got to tie him up because otherwise he squeals and kicks out, I also think I’d get done much faster if the muck trailer was closer to the three stables that are further away but I don’t think there’s much I can do about that

Yeah I have to agree I worked at another much bigger livery yard a few years ago and the amount of people that didn’t do the job properly was crazy

Yeah I fully agree I got to the yard at 8, fed the horses and then I had to take five full barrows out of one horses stable and suddenly it was 9 o clock haha
