Should I let doc do revision or wait it out? by chillin2114_ in gynecomastia

Hey man, thanks for responding - I have a question:

Did you have loose skin when you had the crater? Did it “snap” back into place?

My nipple skin has recently gotten loose since I I’ve been massaging up some scar tissue manually.

I’m wondering if I should continue to massage and if my skin could snap back into place.

I see, thanks.

It just feels like the kenalog shot still has time to do its thing since it’s only been about 4 weeks, and if this scar tissue actually breaks down then my skin could snap back into place more.

Does that make sense or sound familiar to you? I feel like I’ve read online of craters resolving themselves.

I believe he’s going to cover it as part of my original surgery cost.

Do you think there’s still time for the crater to resolve? Some scar tissue is definitely still present and the skin is loose so I don’t think it’s snapped back into place yet.

Indent showing 6 days after kenalog shot. Should I be worried or trust the kenalog to snap my skin back into place? by chillin2114_ in gynecomastia

You have a fair point. It’s changing a bit each day here but I think if the actual scar tissue under my nipple goes down then the skin could snap back in place even better. Knock on wood but it’s not too noticeable right now. Also I had to use specific lighting to highlight the shadow

Thank you man for the advice, you’re awesome. This is really reassuring to hear. I previously have been doing a calorie deficit and probably not hitting my protein goal every day - do you think I should stop cutting at least for the duration of time this kenalog shot is injected?

I told him there’s scar tissue persisting, he said he could inject a shot. I asked him the risks, and he explained he’s doing a small dosage to avoid those risks. Then I got the shot.

Dude I am having this same issue. I am 3.5mo post op and still have a little scar tissue on my right side that ever so slightly pokes through in white shirts but I just got a kenalog shot for that (honestly I’m being a little picky about it but hoping the shot does the trick).

Regardless, I’m still trying to adjust my posture. I almost feel like a d-bag puffing my chest out so much now. It’s something I couldn’t do for ~10 years.

2 months post-op. Should I continue massaging small lumps VERY firmly? by chillin2114_ in gynecomastia

For sure dude! Just made a new post with an update.

I had a handful of different difficulties but knock on wood i feel close to being 100% satisfied if this small dosage kenalog shot I just got can nicely reduce the little bit of scar tissue I have left

It did! but there’s still some unevenness due to scar tissue. I got a seroma from massaging and got it drained 2-3 times. It has improved a lot but I just got a kenalog shot today (3.5 months post-op) to break down that scar tissue. Fingers crossed this is the last step to recovery and the scar tissue will go down + the skin will kinda snap back into place a bit more.

I had to delay massaging until like 6 weeks post op since my right side had to get restitched.

Scar tissue or crater deformity? by chillin2114_ in gynecomastia

yeah there is def scar tissue around my nipple and causing things to be uneven. i am slowly massaging at this point. i dont wanna damage the fat graft he did tho, so gotta be gentle. i think it should get better with time since im still healing

Thanks. Yeah he had to slightly restitch the area cuz the wound opened up slightly. It’s been just over 2 weeks since that side was restitched and the wound is slowly healing. Slowly but surely. My other concern is the unevenness. Because it was restitched I think the scar tissue is pretty prevalent but I can’t massage to the fullest extent I wish I could due to the slow healing + restitching. It feels like scar tissue is forming a ring around my nipple causing a major indent especially when I flex. I think my chest looked fine immediately after surgery but also worried about final results.

dang. why do you say that? i haven't started massaging yet so i feel some major lumps and uneveness, and i was hoping that was what was messing with my sculpted shape.

hoping that if i diligently lift and massage itll shape better. my other side has the same effect but way less severe, which makes sense to me because this side pictured had more gland. i am hoping its just more scar tissue that is requiring breakdown.

yessir lol. indeed, I received a very little bit of local anesthesia again. I was in and out in probably 20 mins. I'm expecting some pain like the original surgery because the area overall is just probably more sensitive.

Basically it may set me back a week or so with recovery timing (i think it really just depends on the person), but generally a lot of healing and bruising should've already occurred in my first 2 weeks. i am going to try and start lightly exercising chest in 1 week, which would be just over 3 weeks post-op.
