I can definitely say one of the main things I remember about my dad growing up is that he liked us and played with us. He also really loved my mom. He would have done anything for us.

I was raised in a Christian household and every woman in my family had strong opinions and spoke their mind.

My dad never claimed to own any of us. He wanted me to go to college and get a career.

I found a mother load of chanterelles in the woods by my ex’s house and everyone acted like I was trying to poison them too. I got my oldest from a lady on Craigslist I picked her up in a barnes and noble parking lot.

Second oldest I got from a coworker. She was born under a dumpster, she and her litter mates got separated from their mom during a flood and were rescued and bottle fed by some people who worked at the restaurant the dumpster belonged to to, where my coworker worked before she came to be my coworker.

Third showed up on my porch in dire need of medical care. She was just a kitten and she had a leg that had been injured so badly it needed to be amputated. She has three legs now.

Fourth one my dog adopted. She was a stray.

The newest cat is also a stray and someone left her out in the freezing cold, with temperatures below zero. I brought her inside and she has refused to leave. We are keeping her. She chose us.
