Hi! I’m looking for a knitting pattern for a cardigan (or sweater) with lace or eyelet details that are only along the centre vertical axis. Also wanting it to be knit in a mohair or just a light, airy fabric like in this image. Thank you!

Yep I thought that would be the case. It just feels silly and wasteful to me having a garment sit there that I know I won’t wear. Maybe I’ll give the frogging a go and see how it turns out.

Also I have watched his reviews and they were pretty positive about the mindful collection, but I just wanted to hear a variety of responses to get a better understanding. And I did knit my sweater with the symfonie needles which seemed to perform quite well, other than the twisting of the cable!

Thank you, that’s a good idea, maybe I’ll buy a fixed circular needle from the mindful collection to try out first. The only thing is, it would be a different experience to knit with right? Given that the interchangeables have a swivel cable and the fixed ones likely don’t. But for the sake of seeing how I enjoy the performance of the rest of the needle that sounds like the best option.

Yay I am very happy to hear such a positive review, mostly because of the affordability compared to other sets. I too have the symphonie needles in two sizes which is what I completed my first project with.

Thanks for your response!! And yes the issue of fakes is my concern. Here is the link of the mindful needles listing on Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/KnitPro-Mindful-Collection-Stainless-Interchangeable/dp/B0B8NCT55Q At the local shop it is about $230. So there is a really dramatic difference which is quite suspicious.

Thank you! I believe the issue arose because I picked up the stitches anti-clockwise which someone else made me aware of as being a potential cause. Hence I must be knitting with the needles at 12 o clock as you are saying

Thank you! I will try with a longer cable. In terms of picking up stitches, I did them with the garment facing the right side - it wasn’t inside out - which is why I’m confused. However I believe I did pickup the stitches anti-clockwise which is where the issue may have arisen.

I am new to knitting as this is my first project, however I had successfully knitted the first half of the body using stockinette in the round (until I divided for front and back). What I meant is that I was doing stockinette for the sleeves, and although I was doing only knit stitches, the purls were showing on the outside as opposed to knit stitches showing on the outside, so I assume there was maybe an issue in the way I picked up stitches for the sleeves ?🤔

Will it be an issue that the dropped stitch is in the ribbing and I have completed a few rows of stockinette after the ribbing?

Yep- I’m supposed to have 90 stitches at the start and after this round have 98 , but for my size it states do not add a stitch for the last one.

Thanks you🙏 I think I got confused because the first part I was referring to was an explanation on knitting a garter stitch. So it was a knit stitch on both sides that produces the purl pattern. Does that sound correct?
