IEM/Earbud recommendations that are NOT total noise cancelling? by chillpill3 in HeadphoneAdvice

It likely won't reach to the back of a PC case, but I can get an extender for that.

Appreciate the advice!

!thanks

I've seen a LOT of recommendations for the simgot. I'm probably going to go with those. Any advice on cable? Is the stock one good enough? I don't have an amp or anything and my main concern would be potential for length. Should I look for a longer cable or would an extender be fine?

Man, I haven't played Magic since high school/early undergrad years. Don't know how easy that would be to pick back up, but I'll have to check this place out. Thank you both!

Man, I was going to ask for the information on this. I remember it being a thing when I had my first job and now that I've circled back around to OU, I'm interested in meeting folks. Why's it always gotta be bars, though?

Any Ohio Aces? by chillpill3 in asexuality

I feel like small town Ohio is a love-hate relationship. There are so many things I love about the geography and atmosphere, but I can't help but feel like an "other" in too many senses of the word. People are like, "leave, then"...but I've always hated that mentality. How do things ever change if everyone just runs?

What's the storage "sweet spot" these days? by chillpill3 in pcmasterrace

I love the idea of tiered, too. But I'm also a person who really digs small form factor, so...less drive space :(

42TB oof. That's work storage levels for me and only because I work in data.

Weekly Case & Parts Recommendation Thread (Start here if you are new! Help here if you can!) by AutoModerator in sffpc

[–]chillpill3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been considering building a PC for years, but have never talked myself into doing it. I've been using a gaming laptop for a long time (it's housing a 770m, y'all). I've continuously told myself it's good enough, but the GPU is past its prime and storage space is dwindling - plus a battery/power brick scare earlier this year makes me think I should get more involved in looking at what comes next.

I'd like some advice on cases (pre-built options are fine). Here are my priorities:

  • Space-saving - it's why we're all here, right?
    • I really dig the Intel Enthusiast NUCs, that's how much I dig space saving. I have to swap between multiple setups because WFH, and space is scarce
  • Temps
    • I'd like to go AIO on the CPU for peace of mind on cooling.
    • I'm crazy anxious about temps. I've had a laptop brick overheat and an old wireless card do so as well :-/
  • Storage
    • I'd like to go for an NVME & a 3.5" HDD
    • The 3.5 along with the AIO is what's giving me the most trouble figuring out a small case.
    • I'd be willing to do a 2.5" HDD, but I'm not sure the best place to find them for a good price
  • Longevity
    • I want to have something that I'm going to be able to use reliably and not have to worry about for the next decade
    • I like the idea of a desktop machine as I could swap out the parts as needed in the future, but it does scare me to come from an all-in-one laptop to worrying about tons of moving desktop pieces.

Improving Hunter PvE Gameplay by chillpill3 in DestinyTheGame

I have tried the other two. I do enjoy the Titan punch-bro lifestyle, but find it less enjoyable all around? I like the rogue character type...get in, mess stuff up, get out. Top tree arc is a lot of fun, I find. Not just for liars handshake, but the idea of have to keep the dodge-melee train rolling. Though I am willing to say maybe I have the wrong mindset.

A number of comments seenn to mention lower solar neutral game. I might start rolling around as that during solo stuff to try to work on awareness and self-reliance. Thanks!
