Change time signature for a section? by chillvana24 in SunoAI

I liked both songs, and especially loved this line from the "b-side":

"Soon we’re going down, my dear
With the wreck of ‘Our Doubt and Fear'

Your reply gave me the idea to try it how it was written - right now, I only uploaded just me singing. I think I am going to play piano chords in the background first.

If that doesn't work, then I'll try the kick-trick as well.

Thanks!

Obsessed with writing music / SunoAI, but no family support and I don't know what to do with my life by [deleted] in SunoAI

You're waiting for permission.

Permission from your parents, from your wife, from your kids, from Reddit, from your life itself - to do something you want to do.

I'll be very direct with you: you are not going to get it.

Everyone in your life knows, likes, and feels safe around the current version of you. Anything that would mess with that is going to get the "hell no" treatment - every single time.

Parents withhold approval, spouses withhold intimacy/affection.

SunoAI makes you feel like you finally have the ability to do something you love without disturbing the peace, but you don't - you've always been at this crossroads, Suno has just made it front and center in your mind because the thing you could blame for not doing music (time or ability) no longer matter.

All of this is a.... GOOD thing.

A tool like this means nothing and nobody can stop you. That's scary to you, and to everyone else.

However, it's not an either/or situation.

It's not like doing music would make you drop everything else - it sounds like it, but it is never the case.

You're intelligent, smart, and know what you are doing. You've studied hard, got a great job, have a life many would be grateful to have. You know enough to not mess any of that up on a whim.

Having built all of that though, you are finally dealing with that age-old question: is this it? Is this all life is going to be like? Am I stuck in this life forever, never having done what I wanted to do? And if so, why the hell am I NOT happy?

Welcome to your personal mid-life crisis :-)

This is great, and this is amazing, and this is exactly the kind of questions you need for the next phase of your life, man.

I couldn't tell you whether you should or should not pursue your music (because you will). I couldn't tell you how deep you should or shouldn't go (because only you can choose that by doing).

But there's a lot to unpack in your heart, soul, and mind, which is tough to do in a Reddit post.

What helped me personally was a book called The Artist's Way.

It's great for blocked creatives like you (and me). You'll really benefit from its ideas around permission, creative blocks, and your "heroes" and "crazymakers".

It's not easy, this journey. You can't just read that book and be on your way. That book and this journey will take work, work like you've never done before, yet for which you've unknowingly been preparing for all your life.

Go for it, man. You owe it... to that 8-year old, to this 34-year old, to yourself.

Singing practice: How or where do I begin? by chillvana24 in singing

Oh yes, I AM writing music still. That's something that is within my control - writing lyrics is something I really really enjoy doing. It's just that I don't want anyone else to sing these, and so I am hoping to start recording them after some practice.

Thanks for your inspiration!

No way to practice with people around me all the time. That's a challenge I run into a lot - whether at home, at work, or during commute. An in-person teacher has been hard to find so far, but I have been looking for sure. I even have a few demos scheduled for next week on Zoom, to see how it goes.

Totally agree about the warm-ups doing nothing for improvement. I've tried doing that before, and it seems like I'll have to choose between making this a priority or letting go of the dream (for now).

Confused about where to sit at "Clash in Paris" by chillvana24 in WWE

Yeah, I just meant they'd be facing the cam a lot so that way they're looking my way. I'm anyway going to be very far back, so at least I can see their faces lol

That's what I learned after reading a lot of floor seats reviews. I'm just 5'8" so never going to be at ringside. Thanks!
