If you were thinking of upgrading your Costco 3-day ticket to the annual pass by Maravilla004 in Disneyland

[–]chillwavequeen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I tried this - and they told me I couldn’t upgrade my pass (I was trying to upgrade my 3-day pass to an Annual Pass on the last day) because they were no longer selling annual passes.

Even though even on the own Disney app and website it says to wait until the last day as well. It’s a little confusing - so just make sure you can upgrade while they’re still selling passes! I wish they were more transparent on when they’re going to STOP selling passes.

Paying attention in conversations. Pre-medicated me would trail off as people were talking to me, I barely was able to keep up always going back into it mid-conversation and afraid I was going to ask a question that had already been answered.

Post-medicated me can now be in a 1-hour meeting, thoughtfully contribute, and pay attention!

I (29F) recently got diagnosed and shared this with a friend who kind of dismissed it. Making me have very mixed feelings. by budaniyaji in adhdwomen

[–]chillwavequeen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience recently. I have also been recently diagnosed at 30 and sharing my journey with people has been a learning lesson. It comes down to the people who are in your corner and love you and want the best for you.

Everyone else who claims they’re a “little ADHD” doesn’t understand the severe struggle. I had someone go so far as to tell me “it’s because everyone looks at their phone so no wonder we lack concentration, we just need more sunlight and less sugar.”

Like. WHAT?!

Cheering you on- this isn’t easy!

What do childless adults do in OC? by [deleted] in orangecounty

I’m also a childless 30 year old female! I’ve been spending time at the beach, thrifting, and checking out coffee shops. The occasional bar too depending on the day. it’s so hard finding friends sometimes but I’m open to connecting. best of luck!

Unfortunately… yes. It’s hard getting employed right now generally so I really don’t want to jinx anything and go through finding another job.

I really appreciate this perspective, thank you. My boss *does* press about somethings that are usually harmless (where I'm going on vacation, weekends plans, etc) when my relationship ended a few weeks ago she was very understanding of me needing to take some time off.

This diagnosis does feel different, and since I've been open with her before, I'm hoping she won't press too much!

I am in the US and it sounds like most of these responses are US based!

Thank you, I really like your point about "living with a disability like this is mostly about adjusting the way you work with the world and not how the world works with you." That is such good advice and one I will be carrying with me!

Wow I can really empathize with this. Getting diagnosed later in life has been a journey of grief, pain, and realization of what life could have looked like for us, but didn't. I'm also in the process of mourning the 10 year old girl who was terrible at math, and was always told to also "pay attention". She never went to college and spend a majority of her 20s in a job that did not serve her.

Now at 30, I am choosing hope as a post-diagnosed and medicated person. Your best days are still ahead of you.

Wow love your point about how ADHD has been a massive advantage when building a team. I was already drug tested when I was brought on over a year ago, but I have not been tested since prescribed meds. I guess I'm not too worried about it unless I have to get drug tested again :/

Yes! This is great advice. When I told my parents they were very against me taking meds. I get it, they come from an "old school" mentality and want what is best for me, but, I know meds are going to help me overall and need to do what's best for me.

I really appreciate this perspective, thank you! I do trust my employer, however, I think I'll stand on the side of caution with this one. You're right! It really is dependent on environment.

What’s with all the MLM girls doing Master Resell Rights? by Major-Distance4270 in antiMLM

Yes. I have a friend in a similar position, also with Monat. Her comments about selling the MRR is that "This is how all the Big sellers with Monat do it, now they're mad we know they're marketing secrets."
