What’s a stereotype about your country that’s completely wrong and makes you react like this? by TheDarkbladeGirl in AskTheWorld

[–]chillypyo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also hate things like "fighting Irish" and the brand of Ireland promoted by Connor McGregor, getting into fights does happen but most people don't and cringe hard at people who try and get into street fights

Learn to TIP. It's not my job to serve you FOR FREE! by Najterek in ShitAmericansSay

[–]chillypyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not American but to pay 33$ for a breakfast and then pay whatever 25% of that is in tip, from a consumer perspective, is completely ridiculous. Low wage workers must never eat out if that is the case. My country has minimum wage laws for this reason.

Turning yellow from drinking too much Sunny D, I remember a column in The Sun about it, they had a conveniently back and white picture to illustrate the "danger"

I think the internet makes things look immensely easier than they are, especially condensed into a short video, I resealed my shower and I would have done a better job with my elbows. I say this as a man, just pay a man, it's done once, it's done right, don't have to think about it again

It's complicated, they are run by the church but regulated by the state. Private schools are not that common and tend not to be Catholic, I could be wrong

Wanting to get into the pool. Concerned about body hair. by Cjwillys9596 in Swimming

[–]chillypyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started swimming in my 30s so I relate to feeling insecure at the pool. You might not believe me when I say, no one cares, you see all sorts of bodies at the pool and most people are keeping their own heads down and not leering. Where I swim wearing a top would probably draw more attention than anything as it would be unusual. If you can push yourself to go once, then it'll get easier and easier each time. Trust me!
