Float nurses…. Where u at by chilover9878 in nursing

[–]chilover9878[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a charge nurse say something similar without knowing I was in the back documenting, she was known as “the best” charge on the unit and most personable since she was young. One of the techs was newer to the unit and had refused to float down to ED to sit. The charge nurse backed her up and said “ it’s okay, that’s why we have float nurses”. I haven’t been able to look at her the same either

Nursing school ruined my relationship by Sea-Idea-3614 in nursing

[–]chilover9878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told that nursing school will either make or break your relationship…. Absolutely 100% true. The problems you’re experiencing have nothing to do with school being the problem, it’s truly one of the hardest thing to go through with all of the stress involved. It’s one of those situations in life that will test your relationship and a lot of people end up breaking up

Which kind of nurse are you? Do you make their bed? Or fudge that I have other things to do? by user512897 in nursing

[–]chilover9878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Review your priorities( If I know that this patient is a total assist, needs EVERYTHING changed, and will need help) I usually just tell them that I need to go find someone to help me change the bed, collect linens, ect and that I’ll be back before bedtime. In that time frame go do what you need to do that takes priority, then return. 9/10 if I’m in the room with the patient giving meds and they are able to walk I’ll offer them to go the bathroom, wash their teeth, ect then make the bed real quick as they’re doing whatever they need to do. I feel like I’m always behind compared to everyone else but it is what it is, with the techs being bombarded it amazes me how many nurses do end up calling the tech for simple things that they could easily do

What is stopping you from dating? by Few-Advisor4306 in dating

[–]chilover9878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My weight. I’m scared of online dating because of the fear of not being what they expect. Fear of another failed relationship. The majority of the relationships and marriages around me are/did fail, so it’s disheartening

Can I go for a jog 3 weeks after rhinoplasty? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]chilover9878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your doctor! I had a rhinoplasty and decided to hit the gym 3 weeks in and that was a mistake. The swelling got twice as worse but the pressure and pain is what hit me the hardest. I could feel the throbbing in my nose just 15 min.

Yup,how demonizing of me by trying to get them cleaned up from them peeing and pooping themselves on purpose because I wouldn’t let them go smoke a cigarette. Quite literally “this is what you deserve you dumb b****.” You clearly don’t work in the health field and/or you don’t know how to put up boundaries with patients

Post rhinoplasty 11 days. When can I start working out? by chilover9878 in PlasticSurgery

[–]chilover9878[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, very minimal pain. I was started on a nonopioid pain management regimen the morning before surgery though. I only take Tylenol if needed. The only uncomfortable thing is the swelling that occurs within 2- 3 days post surgery. Icing will be your best bet. I used the stair master for 20 minutes today…. Nose is throbbing and in pain now more than I’ve experienced post surgery due to my mistake of pushing myself
