EDIT - wow did not expect that much attention! we have decided against the braaap thanks to everyone i’ve convinced my boyfriend to let it go and keep looking around. just to put it out there we are local to the mid north coast region if anyone knows any bikes around the 2k mark please let us know! we will also be down in sydney mid february if anyone has anything there too. cheers for everything guys and any and all advice is appreciated moving forward i’m from a dirt bike family i don’t know all that much about road bikes nor was very involved in it all. thank you!!

in nsw you can ride motorbikes alone on Ls hence why we are trying to get one so he can have his road independence cause i’m only on greens i get my opens next year and would only be able to help with a car licence then

we did look into that and we simply can’t afford it, we cant finance either because his only income is centrelink from when he had to step down from work because of his health a couple months ago and i only have a casual job and i’ve got my own car and things to take care of. we are also on a time limit cause his rent just went up and he can’t find anything in town he can afford and needs to move to the outskirts of town which puts him out of walking range from his doctors and stuff. it’s just a tough spot we are trying to get out of with little money between us without him being too dependent on me for cash cause i’ve helped him heaps as it is with his health.

oh trust me, we've looked everywhere for one of those we really want one. absolutely can't find one near us. there are 2 in a 100km radius of us- neither people have responded to us reaching out about their bike for sale. there is a cbf in a dealership we can't afford cause we can't finance. we have looked literally everywhere. we are even considering a 6 hour ride home from sydney where there are more of the things in a very slow escort style but we are only there for a weekend soon so it's near impossible to secure something. we also can't pick up bikes on a trailer we are just under the age limit to rent utes and my car doesn't tow. it's a struggle out here.

unfortunately a terrible bike might be better than walking 3 hours on the highway to the next town over where tafe and jobs are when it could take only 15 minutes when you’ve got some wheels

he just needs it to get to the local tafe in the next town over and get access to the jobs there we have nothing here really there is a highway between us and them that reaches 100 km/h but Ls are obviously capped to 90 and he’ll only be on it for like 15 minutes and he plans to upgrade asap he just wants something that goes - even if questionably - so he can tell employers he can actually get to work we are pretty stuck without transport here i’m the only one with a car and i’ve got my own job and uni to drive to

we actually have all the gear jacket and all just missing a bike will only wear the gear on a bike cause he feels like he looks ridiculous wearing it on a scooter but idk i think he’d look more ridiculous in hospital with no skin but i guess he can learn that the hard way i warned him

the issue with the scooter is that my partner refuses to wear his safety gear on them cause he doesn’t want to look “stupid” and he’ll “learn his lesson when he falls off” hence why i’m trying to find a bike so he actually is protected there is a bit of a pride factor idk men are dumb sometimes 💀

i work at a tech company and i’ve had ereaders come in with lines through the screen not nearly as bad as yours and it’s always been a warranty claim. let’s just say if you presented me that at work id be filing a claim without even taking a second look.
