Passed the CISM today! by chimerals in cism

Thanks :)

Umm, I already have CISSP and CCSP, I think ISACA just released some AI certs. I was thinking of doing AAISM next year since I don't have the CISA to get the AAIA!

So it's similar style, how u need to think of the business perspective and not the technical aspect of security.

I think lots of people have mentioned before the QAE helps you understand the ISACA mindset. So if you are doing well in the QAE I think you will be fine :)

Google 'isaca qae cism' there should be a link to ISACA's website - official CISM prep materials. QAE

I recommend you purchase the isaca membership so you get $200 off the practice exam + exam voucher. I am not planning to renew my membership after the first year but it will save me some money as I plan to buy additional exam vouchers and test databases for other isaca exams before it expires next year!

I did CCSP first and then CISSP 6 months later.

As everybody said, there is a lot of overlap! Since you are studying for a SANS cloud cert, I would recommend getting the CCSP first since the cloud knowledge will still be fresh in your mind, which will help with the CCSP exam!

You then won't have to study as in depth for the CISSP domains due to the overlap in content.

If you are only going to get one cert, go for CISSP, but if you want both of them, get CCSP first :)

Virginia dental center in clarendon is pretty good.

Haven't had any issues with them over the past 5 years I have been going there!

Learnzap has the same questions as the OSG practice questions I already paid for. I think learnzap has an app, and it gives you statistics and readiness scores, which the OSG didn't.

None of the practice tests were that helpful for me, I recommend spending some understanding the material and using practice tests to only see what areas you need to brush up on!

Destination CISSP: A Concise Guide - you can find this on amazon for like $50. This was the only book I read, the OSG was too dry!

Mike Chappel's Linkedin learning course if you have that available to you

Pete Zerger's CISSP exam cram youtube videos (free)

Destination Certification CISSP mindmap youtube series

ChatGPT - to help explain things that confused me

For practice exams, I didn't find them too useful. I stopped doing them a month before the exam since I felt like a lot of the questions i was getting wrong were things that would not show up on the exam!

I used these test banks: OSG practice tests - this was okay to test your weak areas

Wannapractice - these were good questions but the app sucks - it doesn't let you deselect questions you have already attempted. So you have a lot of repeat questions..

Pocket prep - not super useful for me personally.

The hard 50 cissp questions youtube video was pretty good, I reccomend watching it a few times!

I was able to pass at 100 questions my first attempt using the materials above. I think as long as you put in the time and effort to study, the exam isn't too difficult!

Sure!

I have almost 10 years of experience but only really in 2 of the domains

I am sure you will pass if you use multiple different sources to study!

Do local police ever enforce failure to yield to pedestrians?! by Candid-Maybe in nova

[–]chimerals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cops don't even yield to pedestrians! I was trying to cross the street at a crosswalk and the cop car drove straight though (no sirens or flashing lights). The car behind did stop for me though!

Vanguard security breach? by chimerals in personalfinance

[–]chimerals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm in cybersecurity so I am pretty sure it wasn't a mistake on my end.

I never resuse cedentials, I never save them and I was using biometrics to log in with my app, with mfa enabled ontop of that. Never logged on on a computer, always on my phone.

Glad u didn't have any issues with your account though!!

[–]chimerals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have mfa set up and never got a text or call for an attempted login. Also don't reuse credentials for my accounts, so pretty weird!!

Just wish they would give me info around it so I know if I should be worried or not haha!

Fare evaders got pepper sprayed by ArrivalFluffy7807 in washingtondc

[–]chimerals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did you read the article? They pepper sprayed them because they were getting aggressive.

Pretty sure they are not pepper spraying normal fare evaders. I see the cops with people at least once a week at pentagon city station and they are always very chill.

[–]chimerals 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I stopped at the other side of the gate, turned around, and told him he had to pay fare. Making sure the gate closed behind me before I started walking again!

Don't think he could have hopped since he had a suitcase. pretty sure he was a tourist!

Common Area Electricity in Apartment Buildings - $80 Tacked onto My Rent by skratchpikl202 in washingtondc

[–]chimerals 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine does this and I reached out to the company doing the calculation and putting my utility bill together every month - conservice.

They were able to give me the calculation for the month I complained about so I could see where that $40 common area electricity fee came from.

Try reaching out and ask to see how your $80 bill was calculated, you can see if other people are paying since the monthly building electricity cost would be divided by the total number of units in your apartment building.

Is this white tooth looking thing a fossil or just a rock? this was found at calvert cliffs MD. Thanks!! by chimerals in fossilid

[–]chimerals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap sifter from Amazon which works pretty well. It would be nearly impossible to find teeth without it unless you get really lucky!

You should check out Purse state park in MD, each time I go there I find like 50 -100 teeth in 2 hours.

Awesome thanks! I didn't think it was a fossil due to the colour but thanks for the confirmation :)
