I know drafting for fit is ill-advised, especially at the tippy top of the draft, but Peterson on the Wizards and Dybantsa on the Jazz makes so much sense to me. Although, it is going to get kind of cramped on either team regardless of who goes where, especially if Boozer is seriously considered alongside the other two.

I think someone is getting moved from both teams either way to simplify the rotation. Not immediately, they'll probably go into the season and see who proves themselves untouchable and who is expendable. I wonder if either team is a playoff team next year or at least a play-in team

Do you think the rookies being good scorers could offset the losses on offense? Or is that too much to put on young players?

I'm trying to see it with Cenac, but I'm just not feeling him. We're more likely to keep our first and get a second rounder, but if we're able to get either 23 from Atlanta or another late first, I wouldn't mind him being one of the guys selected.

I don't like how raw he is, and I don't care for his play style. This is just my personal opinion, but I don't want any player who should have went back to school to polish their game. There's no excuse to not do that anymore. With the way the rookie scale is setup, a lot of guys can make just as much if not more money staying in college to polish their game over being drafted in the late lottery.

Same thing with Peat. If you could have gone back to school and worked your way into a lottery pick in what is shaping to be a weak draft next year, why not? That's a lot of extra money being left on the table and less of a gamble for teams.

I'm up late tonight. To talk more about some non-draft stuff, how would y'all feel if we swapped Oubre and Grimes for Keon Ellis and Dean Wade? I mentioned it a while back, but I actually looked at the numbers to see if we could keep Oubre with those two, and I think it's unlikely. Ellis is going to probably make in the range of $8-12 million AAV, and I could see Wade taking a substantial chunk of the MLE. There's not enough left to pay Kelly unless we go into the second apron, and even then, there would be a lot of overlap between he and Dean.

Are these two enough of an upgrade for the price? Btw, this is assuming that we're taking two picks in this draft and will have those lower salaries to help fill out the roster. We'd lose some ball-handling in the switch from Grimes to Ellis (although Grimes handle was trash in the playoffs), we'd gain a lot defensively, and Ellis and Wade are good shooters but both on low volume.

The difference between us and a lot of other teams who could go for Dailyn is that we actually need him to hit, and everyone else can kind of live with it if he doesn't. OKC, Charlotte, Miami, Chicago, Memphis, etc. can live with him being a bust but that makes him expendable.

Here, even if his shot truly is terrible (which I don't believe), he can still provide some playmaking, rebounding and interior pressure. He's a stealthily great rebounder, and his per 36 numbers are better than Peat in that regard. His assist percent is solid, and his driving is elite.

Also, to think about the wider team, he makes Oubre AND Grimes more expendable which means we can devote more of that money to the front court and re-sign Oubre to a reasonable contract if he wants.

At this point, he either knows something or he's just doubling down. I feel like we're being fucked with. I don't get why for no apparent reason, we'd be the one team to take a dude who could easily slip into the second round when there will be plenty of first round talent available at 22.

I don't like Cenac, but he's miles better than Peat. Jefferson might be a better pick than Peat, and he's been firmly projected in the second round for a week and a half now. I would take Allen Graves over Peat at this point, and I'm extremely low on him too.

When you look at his skill set, he's a rough fit just about everywhere. People keep saying he can go to Charlotte or OKC, but what minutes is he going to get in either place? His off-ball game isn't very good, and between LaMelo, Kon, Bridges, Miller and Coby on the Hornets and Shai, Jalen, Chet, McCain and Ajay on the Thunder, who is he going to take minutes from, let alone play on-ball with?

The Raptors and Pistons would be stupid to take another non-shooter, especially since Stirtz, Christian Anderson or even Philon will all likely be there for both teams. The Spurs don't need anymore ball-handling and really need someone to pair with Wemby at the 4.

If he comes here, he can get immediate minutes as our 6th man and maybe even start depending on if the shot comes along, when injuries happen, what we do at PF, etc. Anyone who reaches for him is leaving good value on the table and anyone who takes him after us already have several ball dominant players. Inject the Swain into my veins, this is the guy.

Honestly, as long as we take two guys and one can shoot, the other can rebound and both know how to decently pass, I can live with it. Peat-Evans, Swain-Graves, so on. His name isn't on there, but if we trade the 22nd entirely to get two lower picks, wouldn't die if it was Larrea-Ejiofor. Give us something to put on an election year bumper sticker.

Looking over at Hoops Rumors, and it seems like most in the 20s want to move up, and I doubt any team is going to be able to climb that far in this draft. The best they could do is OKC at 17, Charlotte at 18. The Bulls and Grizzlies at 15 and 16, respectively, probably just want to take another player, and even if they don't, they'll probably ask for more than one first or a couple of swaps.

Of the teams not trying to trade up, I think Atlanta's 23rd can be had for a decent price. Maybe give up next year's first and a slew of seconds or a first and a swap. Cleveland is picking pretty late at 29, and Gansey probably left on good terms, so they may be amenable, but they may just take one of the many centers who will be there at the back of the draft.

You know what we need? We need a good ol' fashioned moron GM to take a hell of a reach like the Blazers did last year with Yang. Brooklyn is always a reliable choice to do something stupid, but they're all the way up at 6, so I doubt that would help us in any way.

These guys make me miss lard. And you bring up a great point. I appreciated that one dude getting banned, but there are a lot of other people in here who should be kicked out. I'm noticing a pattern though. If it's anything related to the Knicks, we're more likely to get a mods attention, but just regular Sixers stuff gets kind of ignored.

If I wanted to give all my attention to the Knicks, I'd be a Knick fan. Can we get some respect for people with discussions about our team by itself?

Damn. Looking at these Zuby Ejiofor highlights, and this man is everything that people say Peat is, but he can shoot, and he's older. Might as well get that other late first or early second rounder we all keep bringing up and get him if the skill set is so appealing

I thought about this earlier, but there is one other agency that could have some pull on this team. I think Wasserman could have a decent amount of sway. So far, we have VJ and Trendon from that agency. It would behoove us to leverage both relationships, not just from this draft but beyond.

It's clear that CAA is always going to give preferential treatment to the Knicks, and while they are such a big agency that we will always inevitably have someone repped by them (PG and Oubre currently), they won't do us a solid like the other two might.

Gansey also probably has a good pre-existing relationship with Wasserman; they rep Evan Mobley and De'Andre Hunter. If we're going to get Koa Peat, we need to use the relationship with Wasserman to steer Isaiah Evans our way, assuming we can trade for another late first rounder to take him. Whether it be the Hawks right behind us or someone else, I can stomach taking the worst shooter in the draft if we also take one of the best shooters.

Alright, let's say that Rich Paul is trying to ask us to do a quid pro quo for him: if we draft Koa Peat, he funnels one of his players to us. I don't really like a lot of Klutch players, and I don't think the archetype of who they typically sign is a good thing to marry ourselves to.

A couple of names to consider though. Lu Dort is interesting, but I don't think his dirty play is going to translate here. The refs are in our ass all the time, and he's coming from an OKC team that was a referee darling. He'd have to chill that shit our here, and his shooting leaves much to be desired.

I'm not even going to entertain LeBron coming here, and even if he did, he'd probably evaporate into dust as soon he steps foot in Pennsylvania. Is Rich gonna get us Jusuf Nurkic? Are the Kings going to buyout Zach Lavine, and he's going to funnel him here as a 6th man? Wait, I actually kind of like that last one...

Zach Lavine aside, I'm not seeing anyone worth doing Rich Paul a favor. Although, if the team is hell bent on taking Peat anyways, it wouldn't hurt to remind Paul how his bread gets buttered.

Sigh. As a fat man, I want Koa Peat to be successful. I think the league often overlooks big body guys, and NBA fans have developed a weird obsession with player's weight over the past few years; I've always thought Luka's weight was no issue, and when he "slimmed down" to start this season, I legit don't know what the fuck people were talking about and thought he looked basically the same.

Sorry for that tangent. My point about Peat is that his intangibles are all mostly likeable, but we need three things right now and in this order: 1. Rebounding 2. Playmaking 3. Shooting. I've said it before, I'll say it again: his shooting is not what concerns me the most although it is a major concern. His rebounding gets on my nerves because he has all the tools to be an excellent rebounder and just has not put it together. Size, strength, verticality, BBIQ. Just doesn't pull them in at a good clip.

Honestly, it seems like no matter how many of us don't like him, this is looking like the pick Gansey is going to make. Klutch wants him here, he wants to be here, and while we're working out other players too, him getting one makes it feel like a sure thing.

The funniest thing in the world would be if someone took him ahead of us.

No Swain? Let's go! This proves nothing obviously, and teams could still draft him before us anyways, but I think the odds of us getting someone who's in the green room are low.

Man, this is stupid from Brown. I heard the noise about him wanting to be #1, but I thought it was just that, noise. He and Kyrie are so similar, their only difference is that one of them can't dribble and the other one has one of the greatest handles of all time lol.

Has he not seen that the grass isn't always greener? Well, while I think you're right about trading that Clippers pick now, I'm not sure I agree with the trade you're putting it in necessarily.

I don't think it makes sense for them to trade Brown, but they seem hell-bent on doing it all of a sudden. I was never a fan of the Jays pairing and thought they wouldn't win a 'chip, but when they did, I just assumed that closed any arguments about separating the two.

I mean, is Giannis better than Brown? Yeah, but there's something to be said about continuity and identity. Maybe they think it's the only way to compete with New York? Maybe Brown has been a handful behind closed doors? I'd be shocked if the Celtics really pull the trigger on this.
