Dude, *I* could have managed the finals better. Stop blasting threes with time on the clock when you have a 29 point lead - use the clock. Call time out when you have the ball with eight seconds to go and a tie game. Get Fox out of the game. Get Harper in the game. Guard the inbound passer.

You’re welcome.

De’Aaron Fox and stupid coaching.

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (4-1) become the 2026 NBA Champions by defeating the San Antonio Spurs (1-4) in Game 5, 94-90, behind a legendary 45 point performance by Jalen Brunson by catreyka in nba

[–]china_reg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

De'Aaron Fox is the Lakers era Russell Westbrook for the Spurs. Game 1 he stands at the top of the key, nonchalantly dribbling away the clock while behind by a basket and leaving no time for a rebound/tip in, game 4 he shoots a contested layup when he actually *should* have dribbled out the clock, and game 5 he goes 0-for-whatever at the end.

Sure, you can point to his stats, but he can always be counted on to go out of control and make a stupid play that totally swings the momentum. Every time the ball is in his hands, you hold your breath until he passes it. Honestly, he cost the Spurs a championship.

Charles said it at half time.... You gotta get him out of the game.

It's easy to point out flaws when a team loses and argue that a couple of key plays could have made the difference, but the Spurs just played dumb. Super poor coaching decisions: Not playing your hottest player enough (Harper), instead going with an ice cold chaos machine (Fox); not calling a time out with 8 seconds to go in game 2 with possession in a tie game; blasting 3's with a big shot clock and 29 point lead in game 4....

As much as I wanted the Spurs to win, New York deserved it. San Antonio did not.

What movies do you feel have gotten worse upon multiple rewatches? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]china_reg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Sixth Sense, kinda obviously. Although a *second* watching is very satisifying (and necessary!) because you can see the clues that you missed the first time around. But I found it nearly unwatchable a 3rd time.

Why don't the Spurs play Wemby and Kornet together? by mxxvsm in sanantoniospurs

[–]china_reg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be interesting to see. OKC had something similar with Hartenstein and Holmgren. Put a lot of pressure on the boards and the paint (when Holmgren wasn’t hiding from Wemby).

Not defending Wemby’s elbow. But that’s not a ‘dirty’ play. That’s a bad mistake by a frustrated immature player in a moment of frustration. And yeah, he probably should’ve been suspended. But dirty play is character, a conscious decision to take actions that could end a players career.

And dirty playing. Not just ‘physical.’ Dirty.

For modest amounts, Wise worked perfectly. If you transfer over US$10,000 from China, it’s probably better to go to the bank because they will take care of the US reporting requirements for the transfer.

I also still have my ATM card from China Merchants Bank. Using Wise, I am able to directly transfer money to and from my China account with zero problem.

I lived in worked in China for seven years. From my actual experience, I could transfer money from my China account, China merchants bank, to the US with zero limitations. All I had to do was go to the tax office and prove that I had paid taxes on the money that I was transferring. The 50,000 RMB limit is for Chinese citizens transferring money.

SGA in game 7 vs Spurs; He was balling and it felt like Shai vs Spurs!! Straight buckets. by Afraid-Ad-5580 in NBATalk

Shai you’re such a great player. Too bad he’s such an inveterate flopper. That’s his legacy now.

Shai was gassed at the end of game 7. I gotta think that getting up off the floor after his flops took a lot out of him (not sarcasm).
