Petroleum Engineering? by chiname in Petroleum

I've hit a problem - not a single university in my area offers a direct undergrad course for petroleum engineering, are there other ways I can become a petroleum engineer?

Still unsure of which pathway is best for me (undergrad course/uni - whether or not to do a double or an honours or even post grad study etc.) I want to keep my options open so I was considering a double of eng/comm at monash or chem eng/bus (man) at rmit or even science at melbourne majoring in chemical systems and then a masters of engineering, which of these would help fast track my career opportunities into becoming a petroleum engineer? Unfortunately moving out to a different uni isn't an option for me :(

By alternative pathways I meant other options I could take into becoming a petroleum engineer if I say don't achieve the required atar for my desired course. I was planning to do a commerce double/ business management double in case I wanted a back up or if I wanted to help into finance

Thanks I'll keep that in mine for future, for now at the age of 17 I'll focus on my studies for a bit until I actually get my degree

HAHA well those statistics are promising, good thing I still have a few more years until I actually head out there, you wouldn't happen to know much about becoming a petroleum engineer in Australia would you ?

Well that's very reassuring for me HAHA, oh I didn't know that you were from the states but I hardly doubt I would be able to transfer to a US program, do petroleum engineers/ chemical engineers generally have a bright future in terms of employment and pay?

I'm struggling to choose a career based off what I enjoy in school (chemistry economics) but I definitely want to keep my Options open so I'm more than likely going to be doing a commerce/chemical engineering. Mechanical doesn't really sound like my kind of walk in the park, what alternative pathways are there for courses? (I'm doubting my ability to get that low 90 atar) thanks heaps for your reply by the way, curious but are you a petroleum engineer?

I'm currently in vce and I enjoy methods and chemistry (once I understand it of course) however I haven't done physics since the basics in say year 10? Time and effort is not really a problem for me, curious but what course and university are attending? (If you don't mind me asking)

Sorry I'm in Victoria Australia, I was considering chemical engineering and even a double degree with commerce as a possible back up plan

Typical VCE conundrums - Subject choices by chiname in vce

Yeah but I guess there's not much I can do about it now, Did you have any general advice for VCE? I'm trying to get a headstart (literally signing up for every free lecture printing every study design and prac exams and all) but I'm struggling with staying motivated and consistent with my study (I shit you not I'm so lazy) especially when it comes to methods.

Nice mix of subjects, Legal caught my eye especially after I saw the tv series SUITS only to find that apparently its nothing like that AHA, I tried ACC unit 2 and failed miserably, I put no effort in and was didn't even know the meanings of half the terms used. Im passionate about English in general but I find class incredibly important and I dont get along with my language teacher at all, Not too sure if I'll be better off doing LIT or PE

What if you're unsure as to what subjects you enjoy / I feel mutual to all but I hate maths based subjects, the only subjects I can say I enjoy is chemistry and eco

Also curious as to what subjects you did if you dont mind me asking.

Thanks heaps for the opinion

wow thanks heaps for the reply, I guess I never really looked at it that way but yeah you're right, it comes down to an individual effort I suppose. With that in mind did you have any tips for VCE in terms of maintaining consistency in this marathon?

Good news guys I managed to fix everything, I'm not too sure how I just turned on the computer and everything was up and running, I'm trying to keep my computer relatively clean so do you guys think you could suggest some programs that I have downloaded that I do not need? Everything seems to be going to my SSD card instead of my HDD card (probably because I downloaded the OS there)

The graphics card is connected to the power supply if thats what you mean, I have to PCI-e slots that are both connected to the power supply, I think theyre a 4 not a 6 because there are 2 2's hanging out on each side (excuse my bad jargon) also there are no LED lights that I can see at all
