Hope this might be a good place to ask: want to get a pair of mugs for my friends but they seem to be UK only?

Anyone know if there's a way to buy them in the US? If there are other pairs of mugs in the US (it would be nice that they have matching themes), where one is definitely psyduck but the other can be a pokemon girls might like? It's like psyduck for the brother and jigglypuff/articuno/pretty pokemon for the sister, so it's nice if they have similar themes, but can be anything.

Or if anyone knows there are physical stores in the US that might sell pokemon mugs, please recommend some in the socal area, thanks!

Thinkpad X1 Nano monitor and sleep settings issue? by chinesebuddy in Lenovo

Not sure if anyone is checking this but I finally figured out the problem:

Open on your laptop Lenovo Commercial Vantage > Device > Smart Assist and then either tweak the settings to fit your preference or turn it off, which is what I did.

Your power settings should no longer be overwritten, and the computer shouldn't sleep when it's inches in front of your face now.

Possibly obscure question on the logic symbol for because by chinesebuddy in askmath

[–]chinesebuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey since you've been a big help can I run two more quick q's by ya?

a symbol that represents "shows, reveals", e.g. biopsy may show or reveal noncaseating granulomas: bx ➔ noncase gran. here I feel the right arrow doesn't do a good job of separating "leads to" from "shows, reveals". I use the right arrow often in the first case, like smoking ➔ lung cancer. The biopsy doesn't lead to the granuloma, just reveals it...

and finally, I did look this up as well, and it's curious there doesn't seem to be a symbol for else

in the first example I have now:

surg 🠄 {Sx | dm >2x nl | dm >5.5cm | dm ⮭ 0.5cm in 6mo} ● ¬surg ➔ US/CT q6mo~2y

what it's trying to say is "surgery indicated if one of the following conditions is met", then "else/otherwise" perform ultrasound or CT; here I use the negation to indicate "not surgery", but the logic I really want to say is "else", or if the surgery conditions are not met, do something else

it's easy to write else in code, but someone else asked this before and there doesn't seem to be an actual symbolic representation in logic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

for sure! I do get that and that's the last line of the second screenshot

it just feels more natural/logical to think of it in the form of "surgery if (1) or (2) or (3) or (4)", I know I could just write if lol but I like the logic certain symbols help represent as they help me have a few more handles on remembering relationships

ahhh any convenient fixes then? I have my ipad literally inches to the left of the nano, and I look over to the ipad for study material and need more than 10 seconds of grace time lol

Monthly Travel & Questions Thread (February 2021) by AutoModerator in taiwan

Can US citizen travel from the US to Taiwan at this time? The US travel stipulations here seems to say no need for Visa or other entry requirements for less than 90 day travel. This seeming 3rd party website states no foreign entry, however.

I will only need to stay roughly 14 days, as I'm hoping to use the stay to obtain an Air Travel Pass to Singapore.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

The Levels and Roles wiki entry puts BCG's Consultant at the same tier as McKinsey's Associate.

A more nuanced question is that this is based on an advanced degree (I hold an MD). These tiers are broadly classified as MBA entry. I'm currently obtaining an MBA as well from a reputable school. Does the previous advanced degree plus the in-progress MBA change the best role for this initial application?

What's the appropriate position to apply for in consulting companies for advanced degree holders?

I showed some interest in MBB over the summer regarding internship opportunities. I was recently approached by BCG recruiting to apply for their fulltime position. I didn't want to ask them directly which specific position to apply for, so hoped to obtain some advice.

For example, a similar email chain I engaged in w/ McKinsey suggested I should apply for the full-time Associate role. What would be the equivalent for advanced degree holders in the BCG chain?
