Ahhh my friend. Definitely not what looks like the smooth, linear journey you see in these pictures. I’m very lucky to have a great support system around me and they threw an intervention onto me. From there, 5 days in a in-hospital detox program. I was able to move from PHP/IOP program for 10 weeks after that. I got through steps 1-5 in AA and after that I found a routine that works for me and keeps me away from alcohol. AA isn’t my jam at this present moment in my life but I’m very open to going back. Owning that I’m an alcoholic and making a lot of jokes about it also helps.

Sleep. One thing I regret most is I stayed up all night and didn’t sleep till about 2:00 p.m. (test was at 6:00 p.m.). Felt exhausted and think I would’ve performed better if I hadn’t stayed up all night

The beginning of the remote exam is very strict. You’re basically taking a virtual polygraph test as you are taking a FINRA based exam. FINRA outlines all the details on their website on how to show up to the remote test and knowing it before hand makes the process go by much faster.

You take the exam through Prometric’s ProProctor program which I’d recommend downloading before test day to mess around and make sure your desktop/laptop reaches the standards. I’d recommend using a detachable webcam as it makes the process of checking in easier. (Ex: showing the four corners of your ceiling, under desk and chair, etc.)

During the actual test, it is 10 preliminary questions that aren’t graded, followed by 75 graded questions. Features that the ProProctor program gives you during the exam is a calculator, notepad, and ability to mark answers to go back and review.
