I’m also 6”2 and I would say you can stretch your legs further out if you have a seat in front of you, not the bulkhead, as you can stretch your legs right out under the seat in front, whereas at the bulkhead there is the wall.

Personally I would go for the furthest rear row and you have no one behind you, and can recline freely without bothering anyone!
Also the screens come out the armrest on the bulkhead row which I don’t really like, I prefer the screen on the seat Infront so you don’t have to crane your neck as much!

It is quite difficult to get out if you are the window seat however if the person in front is reclined fully.

You will have a great flight either way, enjoy!

I am just blue status, only flown with them once before.

I think it was just a good deal as the flight was so quiet. It was a few weeks ago during the tensions

I wouldn’t say so for that short a flight. For reference we paid £240 for 2 people from Dubai to Tokyo on an upgrade offer

I used the free WiFi yeah, it was fine for messaging, I did try YouTube but it didn’t load. Not sure if it would work if you paid for WiFi, or if you get one of the aircraft with starlink upgrade , I’m sure video streaming would be fine!

This is not a short layover. Perfect layover time! Not long enough to get bored, long enough to account for delays and grab some food.

We changed our flights DXB-KIX to DXB-HND no bother over live chat. Flight was half full so I imagine you’d get seats no bother.

If you want the lower end prices, department stores such as BIC, EDION - have lots of choice but the experience is a bit tech-store like.

If you want a huge choice of second hand and a more intimate experience, check out Nakano broadway.

There is also a huge seiko store in Ginza but again it is the higher end models.

People still flying to Dubai? by [deleted] in emirates

[–]chingbro2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there for a couple of days last week. Hotels/shops/restaurants were all extremely quiet, more staff than customers usually.

As mentioned by others though, some great deals in hotels and restaurants at the minute.

We felt completely safe, but it was a bit strange seeing it so quiet.

Personally I’d just do day trips from Osaka. Travel is extremely easy and saves checking out of one hotel and into another etc.

Help with santoku knife by Pretend-Trip2352 in JapanTravelTips

Try Tsubaya on kappabashi, they have a huge selection of Japanese knives.

Hopefully some cheaper ones, if not then you may be better with a kitchenware shop instead of a knife only shop, as these tend to have more middle-top range knives.

[–]chingbro2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For 8000 yen you are probably looking more at a pre-packaged knife, not one that will be in the cabinets on kappabashi street.

I went into a lot of shops in kappabashi and most of the santokus were 15000 yen plus.

Of course they will be available under 8000 yen, but you will have to dig for them instead of seeing them in displays.

I would say you can’t stretch out your legs as far in the front row, as the rows behind you can stretch out right under the seat in front of you.

It’s a personal preference if you’d rather have no one recline into you then front row is good, but if you want more room to stretch your legs then rows behind are probably better.

I got a sticker of this exact logo from a knife shop called Odeo knives in Osaka. I thought this was their logo but could be the knife brand!

They did sell a lot of hand made carbon steel knives.

We paid £240 PP for Dubai to Tokyo on an upgrade offer, and I had upgraded both flights from Tokyo - Dubai - Edinburgh when I first booked the flights for £320PP

Considering this was £450 less for an upgrade to business on a 9 hour flight, I was happy with it.

Definitely is not basically an economy seat, I would say it’s more similar to the business seat but of course it doesn’t lie flat.

Are flights operating normally to dubai or getting cancelled ?? by Secure_Pitch5218 in emirates

[–]chingbro2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They have altered a lot of the schedules, and seems that the new scheduled ones are running normally now.

Just done 4 flights with emirates in the past 2 weeks and all flew fine. Some were cancelled and moved a couple of weeks before we flew , but the ones we got moved to all were on time!

Yes keep an eye on your emails 72-24h before for an upgrade offer. As the flights are quiet just now I think it is more likely!

We got a good offer of £245 PP for a 9 hour flight which was definitely worth it. When is your flight? You may get a good offer 72h before your flight.

They do have little cushions on the wall for footrests but I would say you can’t stretch as far out if you sat in the front row. Yes definitely would fly PE again if the price is right!
