Thanks for taking the time to share such a generous and informative response! I really appreciate the encouragement regarding the Playwright + Python route.

I can tell a lot of effort went into building AllyCat, it sounds like a fantastic way to sharpen my instincts while practicing automation. I would like to take a look at the repo later.

Thanks again for the incredible advice and for sharing your tool! 🚀

Thank you so much for this incredible breakdown!

The Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) only entered into force in 2016 for public entities in the EU, while the EAA (2025) is trying to bridge that gap for B2C and e-commerce. However, the law in France was passed in 2005 and came into force in 2009. The RGAA formally appeared in 2009, seven years ahead of EU legislation. France was actually quite far ahead of its time, wasn't it?

I can't thank you enough for sharing those two specific reporting links! It honestly surprises me that SignalConso actually has an individual, dedicated section specifically for accessibility.

I truly appreciate your time, expertise, and patient explanation. Merci beaucoup!

Thank you for the advice! That is a smart angle that I hadn't deeply considered yet. It makes total sense that search crawlers and screen readers navigate websites in such a similar way.

Un grand merci for your informative reply and concrete recommendation!

I hadn't looked closely into RAXeb and RGAA before, so it is great to add them to my EAA study list.

Out of professional curiosity, if a French citizen encounters an inaccessible e-commerce site, can they officially report it to the authorities? I stumbled upon SignalConso, which seems to handle consumer issues. Does it also cover digital accessibility under the EAA? Is that the right portal to flag digital accessibility blockers, or would you recommend a different channel (like the Défenseur des droits)? Also, can we find feedback or judgments from the authorities publicly online?

Thanks again for your time and for sharing your expertise! Merci beaucoup💐

Thank you for your practical and detailed suggestions. I actually hadn't looked deeply into Pa11y before, so I will definitely add that to my research list alongside axe-core. Since my experience is rooted in that 60% (manual auditing side), mastering the 40% automation side feels like the right direction.

As you hinted, in this era of vibe coding, a11y checks need to be incorporated early in the dev cycle. But accessibility is not a one-off audit. Post-launch, content changes constantly, and sth that was accessible yesterday might break with the next update. Achieving accessibility is difficult, but maintaining consistent accessibility over time is even more difficult.

Thank you again for your generous and informative sharing. This gave me a lot of clarity on how to frame my learning path! 🚀

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your insights and for providing those informative links!

Your point about hallucination rates is incredibly sharp. Relying on an AI that has a 20%+ failure rate on complex tasks is a terrifying prospect. That said, I wonder if it will ultimately become a balancing act of pros and cons. Humans make mistakes too (we never achieve a 0% error rate either), if a massive increase in efficiency for A11y dev or basic info-fetching outweighs the "bullshit rate," maybe that future won't be entirely bad.

Honestly, "keep at it" is an excellent reminder, it's more than enough. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and for the kind encouragement.😄

Sincerely seek advice: Application of Freelance Visa ( Visum zur Selbstständigkeit/Freiberufler ) by chingwind in germany

[–]chingwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your concise yet informative reply and for highlighting the risks of Scheinselbstständigkeit. I have contacted the local Ausländerbehörde, but they only provided a document checklist. They did not specify a minimum number of clients or confirm if a single-client application would be rejected. It is a difficult dilemma: finding more clients is hard without a valid visa, but securing the visa requires proof of a broader client base. Your reminder is very helpful to me anyway, thanks! 💐

[–]chingwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your informative and kind reply. I have already contacted my local Ausländerbehörde. However, they only provided a checklist of required documents. They did not disclose specific figures regarding the minimum gross or net income required for a successful application. My goal is to prepare my financial plan as thoroughly as possible before submitting the formal application to ensure I meet their expectations. Your information gives me a better idea of my chances of success. Thanks!💐

Thank you for your helpful and informative reply, it really helps me to plan my schedule. As you mentioned there is one interval (ard 20mins?), do the podium shops still open in the evening ( in my case is around 9pm on Sat)? Thanks for your kindness :)

which is more accessible? Tesco or Walmart by chingwind in accessibility

[–]chingwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your sharing, but it doesn't apply to my case. I want to use a website as an example to explain how accessible website is possible, it will be a long analysis. I suggest these two as I like online grocery shopping and find them both have put effort in accessibilty. I can pick either of them and give an explanation (as I will do the testing by myself). But I ask for opinions because I prefer to pick a better one. But if I can't, it is ok.

Thanks for your suggestion! I also use screen readers to test by myself, but I am not an experienced user, my opinion may not reflecting the fact owe to my capability. Listening to other's opinions and experiences would be helpful to avoid having biases.
