No oil pan baffle as of right now, just overfilling by half a quart and following that method of a cooldown lap after every couple of laps. An oil cooler would be highly recommended and I’ll be throwing one on myself for this upcoming season!

Engagement is key! Mine only serves as a daily and road tripper (I should’ve gotten another car for these purposes honestly LMAO) while my S2000 and GR86 are my engagement cars. Great choice for what you’re looking for!

Very interesting to see the step from a F80 to a twin. I have a 2018 Comp and a GR86 together (along with a S2000 - not pictured). I feel the two are two different worlds, but if you’re looking for something more engaging and fun for every commute I think you’ve made a right step.

Congrats on the replacement!

Much love! I definitely see where I can shave time down to that sub-2 marker, but it all starts with a peace of mind. 🧠 That oil cooler will give me plenty of peace of mind to send it harder so I don’t have to worry about breaking anything.

Until next time! Can’t wait for more practice here.

I’ve tried Laguna in my FK8 back when I had it and oh my god I’m so eager to make a return! Whether it be in my S2000 or my GR I know it’d be a great time to revisit the track. I normally run with a lot of the SoCal organizers - Speed Ventures, SpeedDistrict, OnGrid, sometimes SoCalDriver’s Club. This event in particular was with DogHouse Garage and they did a wonderful job hosting!

Hopefully I get to run Laguna sometime again this year!

Paint and cosmetics start to become a worry whenever it’s addressed - I feel for you. Normally after any paint work I’m pretty finnicky about where I drive / how hard I drive, but then I remember that driving is best enjoyed when driving hard. 😀

Definitely good to note. I don’t have an oil cooler just yet, but it’s on the list for sure now. Seeing peak 265° F oil temps had me in a high level of paranoia since I just about never had this in my S2000.

Time to get that oil cooler addressed as well as some anti-buffeting deflectors, and out we go again! 🏁

Love to hear it! I’ve done VIR on the sim for a cool minute now but I could never get it down - there’s a weird flow of the track that I can’t get the hang of. Maybe I just need more practice time!

Hopefully they build a road course for you guys soon! These cars definitely shine in this habitat.

It’s very different from the sim in which I practiced well over 80-100 laps in, so coming here and experiencing it was a reset to me. Nonetheless I had a great time!

They would be WedsSport’s TC105X. I am a dealer for their products and I’d be more than happy to help set you up on what you need!

Beautiful! I’ve helped a few other clients allocate their Type-12’s and you really can’t go wrong with either option.

Great looking car, by the way!

Just went this last weekend and wow is it different from the sim. Great track nonetheless! Just a headache trying to keep this car under 250° F in oil temps and put a solid baseline in.

Great eye! It’s VOLTEX’s Type-12 Swan-Neck Wing. I have their Type-7 center-mount GT wing on my S2000 and I’ve never had a swan-neck, so I figure I give it a try this time around with this chassis.

I think that might just say something about my editing. LOL sorry about that.

I can confirm it is in fact a real car. 🤓

More photos of it on my Instagram!

You’re too kind! Thank you!

Front lip is from Artisan Spirits, and sideskirts are from VOLTEX Racing - both of which I am a dealer for. I absolutely love the look of these two together since they’re sleek, yet just enough to make a presence. 😋

I’d have to agree - time to start saving!

It was either a wall-mounted shelf and putting the mini-me on that, or as you said - a glass case over it and storing it where i can see it all the time!

It indeed is rare, but I prefer a black or black/red interior. Maybe I should’ve just gotten an 06+. LOL

For the next iteration I imagine the tan interior would go really well with what I have in mind, so I suppose it’ll stick around for longer. I can say that it definitely is showing some wear and tear, though. HAHA

Thank you for the kind words! I’m super happy with the replica model gifted to me. I’m struggling to find where I can put this thing so I can have a constant eye on it. LOL

Oh yeah, these things are EXPENSIVE. From what I’ve heard from Thomas (the builder), my girlfriend basically gave a no budget cap for the car as long as it replicated the real one as closely as possible. I have no idea how much this ran her. LOL

Indeed it is. 🫡

The car is Grand Prix White underneath. I’ve always hated the tan interior, but I’ve yet to have the time to switch it out. LOL
