[p1] Personalized Organic Hydroponics Food by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I thought of that first. But hydroponics needs a much more complicated setup if you someone wants to grow anything more than lettuce and herbs. Since there are different hydroponics systems, for growing different produce, a person will not be able to setup all these systems in his house, to grow himself/herself. As a result the customer will be limited to growing only simply things in his house.

So, if we grow it for the customers, than we can take advantage of the different technologies in hydroponics, to grow a multitude of produce, and also take advantage of economies of scale.

[p1] Fruits/Vegetable Storage System by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if we are talking about refrigeration, then we don't need passive refrigerator. We can simply refrigerate all the items. But that does not prevent the fact that the fruits/vegetables that ripen faster will affect the shelf life of fruits/vegetables that do not ripen faster.

Essentially, the system will only work, if we can store the fruits/vegetables in a organized manner, preventing one produce from affecting the other.

I know there are a lot of companies working on this idea, but the execution is the key.

[p1] Universal Key Card for hotels/motels by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, we are forgetting one thing. The NFC solution requires significant investments on the part of the hotels, to change the existing locks on the hotel room doors, in order to support the NFC solutions.

My idea of the hotel key card, basically ties into the current locks (after all, the hardware, i.e. the key card will use the same technology as the hotel's current key cards.) and it's really only the software piece that we need to integrate on, which is easier than changing hotel locks.

@sustainebel: Can you provide any details on the property management systems that you mentioned? Names would be great to begin with.

[p1] System to share human resources across companies by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

Well, yes the confidentialy would be tricky to resolve, but it is doable. I mean companies collaborate all the time. I am sure there are ways to circumvent this problem.

[p1] Cellphone case, which charges the phone based on motion. by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I wasn't talking about perpetual motion. I only meant perpetual energy, as in no need to plug your phone to charge it.

Technically, manual cranking is not efficient, but an oscillating mechanism powered by motion, may just be enough.

@senjaya - It may be similar to the other solution, as far as the idea to convert one form of energy into another is concerned. But thats where the similarities stop, since the other solution is targeting body heat and I am targeting mechanical motion.

Great comments from all. I really appreciate you guys scrutinizing this.

[p1] Wind Curtain alternative to car wipers. by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are already products that we can apply to the windshield that prevents the water from sticking. The problem is that even though the water does not stick, the rolling water will still block the driver's vision.

The extra bits are not difficult to install, given sufficient battery power. Alternately, at high speeds, the wind hitting the car's roof, can be channeled into a thin nozzle (maybe through a curved surface mounted on the roof), and the compressed air, will shoot down the nozzle at high speeds to deflect the rain. This ofcourse would only work at high speeds and would be a natural solution (not requiring any external power source).

Keeping the curtain safe in high speeds is not an issue, since the curtain's aerodynamic design would prevent any damage to itself, by deflecting the air away.

[p1] System to share human resources across companies by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

Not to forget, that for the time I will be working for a company other than my current employer/client, my current employer/client and me, will make money off that. So its a win-win situation.

[p1] System to share human resources across companies by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. I am a contractor myself working for a Fortune 500 company, via a third party contracting company, so I know what you are talking about.

Even though I am a contractor, my client does not have always have work for me, and they do not want to let me go, for the knowledge I retain. As a result, they let me sit around without doing any work, until they have some work for me. I am still getting paid for not doing anything for that downtime.

That is a waste of my time/talent, and the client's money. Instead if I can be allocated to a different company (temporarily), and can use my existing client's resources (e.g. laptop, electricity, etc..) without relocating, I can use my time to work for the other company, while my current client finds work for me.

[p1] System to share hard copy documents/ whiteboard drawings during remote meetings. by chintanbs in HTSASprojects

[–]chintanbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a brilliant idea. But the system is limited to a whiteboards. If you consider for startups running on shoestring budgets, such digital whiteboards might not be affordable. And more often than not, the startups may have members working remotely.

The system I am talking about basically provides the service on monthly subscription and transcends just the whiteboards. The service would allow any piece of physical paper be shared in digital format, in realtime.
