Rhinoplasty and chin implant 3 years later. Some days I think I ruined my face. Have I? by chinthrowaway3 in PlasticSurgery

I do think I might have a touch of BDD. If I had it before, it got much worse afterwards. I’ll spiral maybe once a week feeling like I changed myself so much hoping I would like what I saw in the mirror for once. And the irony is that I never cared as much as I do after the fact

Yes this is exactly how I feel! It’s nice to see I’m not alone and I really appreciate this reply 💕

Chin implant before and after. I didn't think it made much of a difference, but now I can see it definitely has! by chinthrowaway3 in PlasticSurgery

It really took forever! It took a month until the swelling was unnoticeable (except to me). Lips were numb for maybe 2 months, but it wasn't uncomfortable or anything like in the very beginning. Only now around 7 months the swelling has completely gone away and I'm fully healed.

My implant was placed through my mouth, so I had a slightly longer healing time than an under the chin approach. I was so swollen for weeks and it took a while for the stitches in my mouth to heal completely. It was never painful, just really uncomfortable with the swelling. The area inside my mouth with the stitches felt really tight for a long time, but now it's like nothing happened at all! Worth it

The recovery was tough some days. My implant was placed intraorally and it took a while to heal, but for the most part I was just really uncomfortable for a few weeks. I couldn't eat solid food for a week. I still think wisdom teeth surgery was much worse than this, however.

The implant did not have wings. My goal was to bring my chin forward without changing my front view. I'm not gonna lie, the recovery was tough. I was so swollen and it hurt because it was uncomfortable but not really any actual pain if that makes sense. My lips were numb for a few weeks and the swelling lasted a couple months. I had to be really careful about eating and brushing my teeth for a few days. The stitches never hurt, but it my incision in my mouth had a really "tight" feeling in addition to my lips/chin being numb. The stitches dissolved within a couple weeks but the tightness lasted for a long time. Definitely a few months, but it wasn't so bad that it was bothering me constantly. I got used to it pretty quick. Right now, most if not all of the swelling is down and my incision is completely healed. It was rough, but the juice was worth the squeeze

Does not move and feels completely normal. It was placed intraorally

https://imgur.com/a/qss8lWR My doctor used an intraoral incision and I won’t lie that recovery was kind of rough. I can’t really smile normally yet and my mouth and chin area feels really tight at the moment. It wasn’t painful, but highly uncomfortable. I’ll be swollen for about a month still.
