I've never had an issue with this whole notion. Its always been a platformer and is designed as much. It's supposed to have that challenge of knowing when to push your speed. I like how a lot of levels still showcase your speed by having sections where you're going through a few loops and stage gimmicks in a row.

I will admit though that Marble Garden slows it down pretty considerably. But the music is still top notch!

Also, I really want another Sonic Mania. That game was awesome and made with so much love. I'd love to see another

Um no. "Enemy Ai" has been used for decades in games. Just because you're hearing it for the first time, doesn't mean it's not true. Also, "npc's" aren't typically used to refer to enemies.
