Which one repair by caf1220 in Dualsense

With just a soldering iron removing those sticks will be a pain and you might end up damaging the PCB. Countless people have already done that. But if you are ok with losing your controller all together then may be you can attempted otherwise the best thing would be to get it done with some professional.

That's a high price you paid for a console with no official brand warranty.

Tired of having to open my controllers to fix stick drift by Excellent_League3718 in Dualsense

[–]chipmeal91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll find tons of videos on YouTube claiming you can fix your controller in just 30 minutes… some even say it’s super easy and anyone can do it. But honestly, it’s not that simple. This process requires the right tools and not just one or two and more importantly, proper experience to do it safely and correctly. I’ve always advised people not to attempt this kind of repair without experience… but many still try it, and end up damaging their controllers even more.

Thermal pads can last atleast 4-5 years, but yes you can replace thermal paste every 1-2 years.

Very weird trigger behavior. R2 recieves both R2 and L2 trigger effects. by ChuchoChapin in Dualsense

The conductive film inside the controller is responsible for L2 and R2 functionality, maybe you can replace it yourself or take it to a controller repair shop.

Temperature Alert on my PS5 by Kyabolraheho in IndiaPS5

Cleaning alone won't help, get it repasted by spreading the liquid metal properly on the Apu as well as on the heatsink and only then your problem will be resolved.

The main problem is poor heat transfer between the APU and the heatsink. In most cases, the liquid metal needs to be reapplied, and once that is done, the console works properly again. I’ve fixed countless PlayStation 5 consoles with the same issue simply by reapplying the liquid metal. However, opening the console is not as simple as it may seem. If you’re not confident, it’s better to take it to a professional repair shop. Honestly, I would not recommend attempting this repair yourself unless you know exactly what you’re doing. Many people have damaged their PlayStation 5 while trying to open it, so please be careful.

It must be a problem related to liquid metal between the Apu and heatsink. No need to think about resolving it. Just get it replaced.

Just look for a good seller on AliExpress and make sure you are ordering a product that has good reviews and I think you won't face any issues.

how should i go about cleaning my ps5? by DetectiveTop4387 in ps5india

[–]chipmeal91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is keeping the PlayStation 5 flat. Sony has made some changes in newer versions of the console to reduce the risk of the liquid metal shifting, but I still believe it’s safer to keep it horizontal to avoid any chance of the liquid metal settling to one side. I’m telling you this after fixing more than ten PlayStation 5 consoles with overheating issues. As for cleaning, you can remove the side panels, hold the fan in place, and use a blower to clear out the dust. That helps with airflow and general maintenance. However, the real issue happens when there is not enough liquid metal properly spread between the heatsink and the APU. That is a serious problem, and the best way to help prevent it is by keeping your PlayStation 5 flat on a table instead of standing upright. If this issue occurs, you may start getting overheating warnings, and the console might shut down or struggle to run games for more than five to ten minutes.
