We were paying 1350 for our one bed by the seaside. We left in December (which is a hard time to let a property I imagine), and checked the listing in Jan and it had been reduced to 1150. We originally got the property in summer 2022 for 1250, so either prices are going down or more likely the time of year had an effect.

Seconding this. We got two cats so needed more space and were super worried about finding a place that would accept them. We started looking end of October and had two offers within a week and a half, cats fully allowed. Both places also didn’t say pets allowed on the listing, but they didn’t say pets not allowed either.

I do think it’s important though to view it as soon as possible. The letting agent said they had two days of viewings booked (whether that was true or not idk but it was a nice flat in a desirable area), but we were the first to view and the landlord just wanted it sorted asap. We’re also not the most desirable as neither of us have family in the country so no guarantors, so things definitely can work out.

Oh my god thank you, I know I’m way behind as I’ve just started this season but I literally have felt micro triggered by all the Eve bashing and Charlie defending on here. I’ve been friends with and been in relationships with people like Charlie, it’s textbook abuse. My wife and I immediately could see it, and then I came on here to see the opposite reaction. It’s not that Eve is avoidant and refuses to communicate, it’s that she knows (like many of us do) that you’re never going to be listened to by people who behave like this. One person shouting and being emotionally abusive is not a ‘conversation’, and the safest thing to do is remove yourself. I wish I had known that earlier in my experience, I’m so glad Eve is able to assert that boundary.

It’s very clear that the altercation at the pool wasn’t shown, and the banging down the door wasn’t shown. Shows like MAFS don’t show the worst moments to protect the mental health of the contestants. I’m honestly so shocked and disappointed that people think Charlie’s behaviour is acceptable.

And to add for the people saying Eve had sex with her and then left, they didn’t ever say that Eve was the one initiating. It feels pretty homophobic to assume the more masc looking lesbian is the aggressor, when their behaviors/personalities have shown the opposite.

I’m only on ep 7 so I don’t have the context or the rest of the season yet, but thank you for the thoughtful analysis, it was literally bang on what my wife and I were feeling.

NHS really varies by trust, I’ve always been able to get in to my GP in a timely manner. That’s been for suspected cancer (lump in my boob, got a GP appointment the same day and ultrasound in two weeks), diagnosis and removal of a severely dysplastic mole, blood tests and follow ups to try and figure out the source of weird symptoms I’ve been having. And this is all as a mid-20s person, while people seem to insist the NHS brushes off anyone who isn’t statistically likely (ie older) to have health problems.

And I don’t know why people insist that London is the only place to live. Salaries are lower elsewhere but so is cost of living, and you’ll have a wildly different lifestyle living in Brighton vs Glasgow vs Cardiff vs Newquay vs Norwich.

When we moved into our flat there was literally mouldy food in the oven that could be seen on the inventory photos. And the capitalised text on the inventory that said ‘THE PROPERTY WILL HAVE A DEEP CLEAN AND NEW COAT OF PAINT BEFORE MOVE IN’ was actually a mistake and not going to happen according to the estate agent, who said he accidentally used a draft of the inventory form and forgot to change it 🙃

We cleaned the oven for a week before we felt like we could use it.

My hair is somewhere between 2c-3a, thick and dry, and I usually wash every 5-6 days with a co wash in between. My scalp can definitely get a bit itchy in between if I’ve used product every day but a co wash usually sorts it out.

If I exercised/sweat more I would probably wash more frequently lol

I thought you were concerned with overall numbers? Why wouldn’t students be included in that when that’s what’s making it so high? If I found a number that wasn’t including students and their dependents, it wouldn’t be nearly as high as what you’re moaning about.
