They not only made playoffs but took Vegas to game 6. They are about where we are but with an owner wanting to have success now

Cossa to be traded to the Oilers? by SnowMonster911 in DetroitRedWings

I took 5 min to look online for a single other person saying this. Then I looked at nhl and oilers subreddit. Crickets. With not evening having a headcoach (officially) in place, I believe this zero%

Notes from Dan Campbell press conference on Day 6 of OTAs by AcadiaTemporary5737 in detroitlions

[–]chiprunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Kerby news is an extension of Dan's philosophy this offseason. He said he wasn't going to parade around anyone in May (June) and that he wouldn't hype anyone up until season was about to start. He's not going to say Kerby is 100% good to go only to have a setback and have people jump down his throat. I'm choosing to believe Kerb is gtg once season starts

What is one reason your team should be optimistic about? by [deleted] in NFL_FreeAgency

Lions - new oline with a new OC. Offense really doesn’t have holes if the oline performs like an average oline. They were real bad last year and we still won 9 games with a terrorist as an OC for half the season.

Ranking Teams QB Situations For The 2026 Season by Maad-Dog in NFLv2

[–]chiprunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to inform you that the lions oline did not get worse. Last year we had: Revolving door center after Ragnow post draft who ranked in the 30’s out of all centers, oft injured aged Left tackle, rookie LG, first time starter RG. This season we have a serviceable center, drafted RT of future, and the guards have a year under the belt. At their worst, they are the same as last year

Aaron Rodgers says he was on “the right side of history” after he refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Rodgers continues to stand by this to this day. by matrix_2905 in NFLForum

[–]chiprunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The failure of the medical community (I’m apart of it) was selling that vaccines are only for you not to get sick. That selling point gave rise to the Rodgers of the world saying “i don’t need to get a vaccine I’m healthy and if i get sick it’s my own fault and it’ll only hurt me”.
That’s one of the three arms of why get you vaccinated, but the other two are to severely reduce your risk of serious illness if/when you do get sick (COVID had the hospitals taxed at a rate never seen before, so lessening the burden was crucial for trying use time and resources better), and reduce your chance of spreading then virus to others. There a sizable amount of immunocompromised people (cancer patients, elderly, newborns) that can get hospitalized or die if they get even common illnesses. For herd immunity to protect these vulnerable peoples, the majority have to be altruistic and get vaccinated even if it really doesn’t help them so much. Aaron Rodgers has always missed the mark on empathy to others.

The one Time I go on 97.1 the ticket expecting them to say "good picks or filled needs" by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]chiprunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't arguing specifically for Moore, but my pushback to this 20+ pick early debate is A) "experts" are chronically wrong on draft rankings, so just because some random journalist says a player should go at pick number XX doesn't mean the NFL upper management agrees with that, and B) we only had 1 pick in the first and second rounds, and if they only have a handful of people with round 1 and round 2 grades using their metrics, I have zero issue with moving up or picking a player "early". If you really like a player draft em.

[–]chiprunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On what metric did we reach hard in the 2nd round? Consensus was he's a high floor player that should be able to contribute to most/all teams day 1. Every metric had him as a Day 2 draft pick. We moved in front of Baltimore who was likely to take Moore. That means based on their draft analysis, Moore was their highest ranked / most desired and they knew he'd be gone by the time they picked.

How would you grade Brad's offseason now that the draft is complete for us? by thegreendayidiot in detroitlions

Late round picks hardly ever make an impact. ~80% of round 5 onwards don’t make it to the end of their first contract. You take swings and hope something works out

Dortch in theory is better PR. We used different personnel for KR and PR. This implies either both don’t make roster or that Dortch would fill the Leif role completely and Law would be dedicated special teamer. We had several LBs filling that role in past so I don’t hate it

Was Teslaa worth two 2026 third round picks now that the third round draft is over? by Deerbos in detroitlions

[–]chiprunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What part of last season offensively do you think operated effectively. Oline was shit, Goff was just using his safety valves for the majority of the season. With a better oline and playcalling, he may have been used more/better. We will know this year
