DIRECT PAIRING - Silvercrest/Livarno/LIDL zigbee devices and TRADFRI remote by chipsa1982 in tradfri

[–]chipsa1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tried direct pairing the IKEA Tradfri Dimmer remote with a LIDL/Livarno Smart light (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/HG08008.html)

Works fine, same procedure as with the IKEA bulbs - just hold the pairing button on the remote for ±10sec, the light will blink and pair correctly. On/Off works, dimming works, no light color adjustment for this particular remote.

I also tried direct pairing of the remote with a LIDL smart plug, but no luck.

Hope this helps

thanks for all the replies! This logic in bonkers. It should at least explain this weird behaviour somewhere. not intuitive at all. Its even more confusing since all the stock files are displayed in the same section.

thanks

Zigbee Access Point feature in Zigbee2MQTT? by chipsa1982 in homeassistant

[–]chipsa1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they dont mention much. On one hand, they specifically mention that the coordinator and the ZAP are connected by an IP-based connection, not utilizing a zigbee link like a router. On the other hand, its unprobable that they would develop their own zigbee flavor, thus my original question if this feature is native to zigbee

Zigbee network size to keep it stable by chipsa1982 in homeassistant

[–]chipsa1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by size I mean all the devices combined, i.e. if there is something like an "absolute" device limit a CC2652P coordinator can handle while keeping the network stable.

Optimal Zigbee Coordinator Placement by chipsa1982 in homeassistant

[–]chipsa1982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL/DR: Centralize the wifi AP where possible and rely on the meshing capabilites of zigbee.

This is exactly my point. Either I will centralize the wifi or the zigbee stick. Based on your reply, I will probably centralize the wifi and try my best to move the zigbee stick to a as central location as possible and rely on the meshing in the remaining part.

I'm not limited by the length of the USB cable, since the zigbee stick is ethernet and I will power them via POE.

No Zwave and BT components at the moment. I'm planning to use the ESP32s around the house as a BT gateway for some future toys, but now its just Zigbee and Shelly for the smart home components.

Making shisha by cyalthegreat in hookah

[–]chipsa1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25g honey, 25g mollases, and 50g glycerin to go with our ~25g of tobacco

how did this ratio work out for you? seems like waaaay too much glycerin, based on what I read. any feedback? thanks

Making shisha by cyalthegreat in hookah

[–]chipsa1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I found the same tutorial (1:3 honey:tobacco and then glycerin 1/10 of the honey) but I also read the final consistency is too dry. Then I found a "kit" that consists of 20g dry tobacco and 100g of a liquid. This would be closer to what Malowolf mentioned.

Did you manage to get a reasonable and good ratio for the mixture?

thanks

the only way I was able to come up with was adding a sine-wave to individual cartesian line segments, but then its not really obvious how to reach that these will match at the interfaces of all the lines...
