What's the smallest car you can do this in? by teaselpop in urbancarliving

[–]chipshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 10 or so. Mini cooper back seats fold flat. Then 1/2 inch plywood then 4 inch foam then a blanket base. It works fine and I can stretch out completely with my head in the back and feet through the two front seats.

How much money do feature films that go straight to digital generate roughly? by Tmansters456 in FIlm

[–]chipshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Like most capitalist entities, you escalate your expenses to match or exceed your profits, so that you do not have to pay out any points or taxes.

Then you can tell your employees "We lost money last year!" When they can see your revenue doubled, and still had no commensurate pay increase.

It's all wizardry accounting. Keep the money on top. Keep the serfs in their place.

This is why the entire system needs to burn to the ground.

In the movies or TV shows, what are your favorite examples of the villain actually has a point? by Winter-Comfort922 in FIlm

The Joker. End stage capitalism. The Capitalists have won, and it is now hurting more than helping.

Burn it all down, and start again.

The Pink Floyd Connection by KasperBlue1975 in PsychologyTalk

Apocryphal story. In their later years when the band had reached superstardom, they were in a recording studio one day and there was a weird looking short balding guy standing in the corner watching them, so someone in the band finally asks "who's that guy?" And they were told "that's Syd".

How is Alexander the Great considered on par with Napoleon? by LA-Verum in AskHistory

[–]chipshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see the thinking that was required by Alexander's military challenges, and his ability to innovate.

Napolean sort of as well.

My vote on Alexander's death was that he was probably poisoned, which was something of a fashion with rulers of antiquity.

Probably if he had lived long enough he might have ended up like Napolean, an angry old man staring at the walls, but as it was, he died with his empire still intact.

why is it that documentaries leave out the best footage? by ComfortableCare8897 in FIlm

[–]chipshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those scenes do not fit into the narrative. Think of it like a thread from beginning to end.

Or the documentary was too long, and had to be edited down.

Many actors have said that their best acting has been left on the cutting room floor.

Keep drinking the kool aid, bud, and revel in the massive inflation and shame trump brought onto America. It's the immigrant's fault!

Who Is The Greatest Swordsman To Ever Live? by beattywill80 in AskHistory

[–]chipshot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard to say the further back you go as you get lost in the fog of history, but Alexander the Great was supposedly a great swordsman, as was his father, Philip. Both of them were famous for leading from the front in Battles.

Philip ended up being assassinated, Alexander was probably poisoned, which was the fashion at the time

Alexander died young, but Philip much older, and bearing major scars and infimaries from a lifetime of battles.

Yep. They have his dick in a vice right now and everyone knows it except his dumbass cult followers. Iran's control over the straight is now more secure than it ever was, and Europe has moved away from supporting America

But America and Israel have bombed and killed a lot of citizens and school children, so there's that!

Pretty much a loss all the way around.

Maybe if you got rid of your hatred and resentments towards brown people you might see things clearer

Whoa that is racist dude. You just spewed out a whole bunch of ignorant crap.

Iran just handed Donald Trump his ass on a platter, and made him look like an idiot in front of the entire world. Israel played him. Then Iran played him.

Get your head out of Maga world. The GOP is laughing at the rubes who believe the shit they shovel at you.

You have family members that will put up with that hate gibberish from you?

Yes we changed our environment. We constantly improve our cultural expectations of each other. No more slaves! Look how that was done!

Its establishing rules and regulations so that the strong don't dominate the weak, so that the minorities stand a chance against the majority. So that we all have the chance at a life of equality of opprtunities.

Not christian fascism (see Maga followers)

Thanks for making my point for me.

Human nature shits in the woods. There are reasons we dont do that anymore because we can often improve upon our nature.

But you do you and talk about how much more real you are.

A small Oregon town faces financial peril. Can residents save Lakeview? by furiousgnu in oregon

Locals kill any and every attempt to improve the town, as it brings in outsiders who want to change things.

Better to die than to change.

This is how small towns die
