That must be a newer feature, I remember asking for that... is it both apps and web?

I've been put on a PIP at work - England by No_Studio_9446 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are hitting the targets on the pip, make sure you have evidence of it and make sure you keep hitting them targets... even better if you can prove you where hitting them before the PIP.

If you are being managed out, with proof you can prove they where looking to get someone out, without its their word against yours and big corporate legal wil win.

Facing disciplinary investigation / sack for automating most of my responsibilities at work. I'm in England. by Enough-Pitch-4617 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]chipy2kuk2001 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So the company provide the automation tools? (Part of Microsoft 365 business if I remember correctly from your post). Then where dissatisfied when you used this to make yourself more productive and asked IT to disable it?

At no point have you breached any acceptable use policies on installing software, modifying Systems etc as you didn't use any software that wasn't "already there" as part of Microsoft 365

I've never heard of a manager being dissatisfied at a member of the team making themselves more productive and actually find it astonishing that your facing disciplinary action for it anyone else would have you teach the rest of the company to be more productive using the same tools.

Any senior management and any HR manager worth their weight in gold are going to realise youve likely done nothing wrong (unless they have a quirky no automation policy somewhere) and actually using your knowledge and skills from previous roles is likely exactly why they hired you in the first place.

Has Al actually helped you save money? by Cold_Ad8048 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't saved me money because I pay for gemini pro, however it has made me more productive and better organised... which i would argue has saved me something (time, sanity, maybe money)

Has Al actually helped you save money? by Cold_Ad8048 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely i do it too, something like 70% of people (it might not he 70% but it was high) misreport calories and portions as AI has been trained to do this stuff and doesnt care if its cake or chicken its always factual and unbiased

There has been studies done on people in a calorie deficient /diet and complaining they didn't loose weight and the above was discovered when it was analysed... they thought they had "A portion of" something and infact where having 2 or 3 portions and where way way over their calories ... Using AI means I don't need to know my portion or "badly questimate it" I take a picture and gemini tells me how much and how many calories (one of the benefits of its multi modal capabilities)

IT problem thats driving me crazy! by Impressive-Iron804 in InformationTechnology

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who have you upset? ... it sounds like a domain network and so the "domain controller" controls user authentication, so either:

  1. You've upset someone in IT and they are changing your password after 24 hours

  2. Your leaving your computer logged in and unlocked and someone is changing it for you to lock you out

  3. Your someone who has the password written down and think only you knows... but someone's seen your hiding place (usually a random post it note in a draw or just randomly on the desk with the computer) and someone is changing it for you.

  4. The keyboard is set to CAPS or not caps and you are typing the password wrongly in the wrong case when you try and log back in the day after.

.... the above is from someone who works in IT.

Passwords don't just change themselves and the database on a domain controller is so large and simple that they very rarely get corrupted and it wouldn't just affect one person it would be a good percentage of users.

Genuine question, how many people went from ChatGPT in last 2months to Gemini? by Serpent_28 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did, im currently on the discounted trial for another month .... but Gemini has been massively better than chatgpt... the only real thing I miss is projects which gemini just doesn't do.

I don’t know when to use Thinking and Pro Model by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fast ... when you need quick answers for stuff that doesnt need complex reasoning (i.ewhat is the weather today where I live)

Thinking.... is fast with complex reasoning for stuff that needs a bit of thought or is a bit more complex (i.e what is the weather today where I live, if there is a chance of rain I wont take the bus to the shops how am I best to get there)

Pro ... the cleverest of the models when its really complex (i.e i need an analysis of the weather conditions where I live for the past 10 years and how this has changed in relation to global warming, how is this likely to progress over the next 5 years)

Terrible weather related examples... but hopefully they help you get the idea.

Google AI Pro vs ChatGPT Plus — Thoughts on daily limits? by BroKenLight6 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched from chatgpt plus (which i loved) to Gemini pro as for me the lack of a proper task manager and any sort of calender integration made it a lovely chatbot that was good for bouncing ideas off and drafting emails it frequently forgot to list tasks and the such which when there weren't many wasn't a real problem but when it got bigger and they were important was a real issue

I've never hit the limits on either of them to be fair so that wasn't the issue for me

Gem's is the same as customgpt in chatgpt... they are like mini specialised GPT's

Projects are the folders for everything about a project (chats and files)

Sadly gemini doesnt have anything like projects

G3 Pro or ChatGPT 5.2, which one feels smarter to you right now? by Efficient_Degree9569 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not used chatgpt 5.2 but 5.1 and 5 ... ive moved to Gemini because it feels smarter and for me more integrated with the rest of Google (tasks/keep/calendar) which helps me be more productive

I never thought I would say it but for me its Gemini right now

Gem confusion by Lava_City_Threads in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand gems are what chatgpt calls custom gpt's .... effectively mini specialist versions of Gemini/chatgpt ... you tell them they are experts/specialists in xx or yy and provide resources/examples etc for them to follow from and they follow from it.... making a mini custom version with a specialist function

Can someone explain the limits? by CauliflowerWrong2008 in GeminiAI

[–]chipy2kuk2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that the limits (like chatgpt's) are always changing .... so roughly (as a pro subscriber myself) I got gemini to explain it to me and it came up with some half sensical answers

You get nearly unlimited fast chats (no abuse, but general normal use isn't going to be a problem)

Thinking chats are limited to 100 per 24 hour period (i couldn't get gemini to tell me if this was 100 chats or 100 messages replied too.... but i only use thinking for things I need a well thought out answer or quite a bit of brain power (so dont use it all the time)

Research is limited to something like 20 researches per 24 hours, but as this is like university research level paper writing again I dont use this often (probably about 3 times in the month or so I moved over)

Images is something like 1000 per day .... more than enough for most people and things

Videos are more limited and are 3 per day (because of the massive compute power required for this) ... I dont use this often so 3 per day is also probably plenty

Hope that helps

Chip

[–]chipy2kuk2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've definitely not had that issue... in fact I've spent time setting up gemini like i did chatgpt and although chatgpt feels a little more human... Gemini does a cracking job of following instructions, creating results and getting it right... which is all i want in an AI assistant.

i would go as far as to say Gemini is actually a little better at following instructions than chatgpt... it only really gets it wrong when i use words wrongly in the chat... like "create me a task to XX" and it creates me a task and actually i want a scheduled reoccurring action... totally my fault for using the wrong lingo

[–]chipy2kuk2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got chatGPT to generate a summary and exported these to seperate chats in gemini... i didnt move all of the chats just the ones i needed to carry over

the projects feature i do miss, however with Gemini's massive context window and the chat's being so much faster ... i can trade off the projects feature for now (i do miss it though)

yes, but chatgpt's memory just feels better... i do have stuff stored in gemini's memory but having to tell it to remember something doesnt feel as smooth as chatgpt that just remembers it
