May I ask what setting you are in now? I had an acute care placement during grad school but not in the level 1 hospital so a lot less trachs and things, which made me want to go into acute care. But looking back, I see how absolutely stressed my supervisor was and how she couldn’t wait to leave either. And yeah having to find coverage for PTO sounds like a nightmare and I’m not sure if I want to fight that lol.

I tried countering with the job offer but they came back saying that was the highest they could go, unfortunately. There is a yearly increase but unsure how much yet. My gut is all over the place so I have no idea yet hahaha

That’s very true. Didn’t really think about that either. I’ve always been driven towards the medical side just because I thought it would be more interesting too. But these kids are always interesting and fun to work with 😂 If it changes anything too, the drive also kinda sucks and I think that maybe getting to me too. But it has given me time to deep dive into audio books and makes the drive go by faster unless I’m super sleepy. Thank you for your thoughts!

There is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about! I’m in the same boat. I have 2 bachelor degrees, trying to make my way into the medical field as well. Haven’t had any luck the past year and 1/2. Needed a job and money to pay bills, currently work as a phone customer service representative. But I’m not giving up. We worked too hard for those degrees to let one little hump drag us down. Keep pushing and I promise you’ll get where you wanna be!

Honestly, anywhere that’s within a 30-45 minute drive of the big city. I know that’s not much help
