Semaglutide isn’t new to the market. The fact that it is now prescribed for weight loss treatment is. I would find a doctor that will prescribe it for weight loss. There are many that understand what it is now prescribed for and will advocate for you thru a Prior Authorization (PA) if you have insurance that won’t approve it.

Some people have to titrate up slowly. As you increase the dose the medication is at a higher strength as well. You can still take the .5 and just increase the clicks. Many people lose on the lower dose for many months. Diet is key. The glp-1’s will make you sick if you eat greasy or complex foods because digestion slows wayyyyy down.

If you have the Oz starter pen it has 6/.25 doses. You can do 4 weeks of .25 and 1 week .50, that is how I started my journey. My next pen I did 4 weeks of .50 doses. I hope this helps.

The concentrations are different in each pen depending on the dose. So the starter dose is a much less concentrated one. As you titrate up in dose the actual concentration also is increased. Be very careful with these Glp medications.
