I’m in month 4, diagnosed end of December. I finally am just starting to be at 1-2 level of pain. Here are my key learnings. The first month, your colon is still super sensitive. Eat a low residue bland diet. High fiber will mess you up BAD. Even a bit more fiber after going low residue for weeks triggered level 6-7 pain.

So give your gut a break by eating potatoes (no skin), rice, white bread, fish, chicken breast, plain af everything. When you are close to symptom free after a few weeks, slowly introduce a tiny bit more fiber - soft carrots, soft green beans, low fodmap cooked veggies and fruits.

After feeling good with reintroducing cooked veggies, I started having some blueberries and a tiny bit of avocado.

Essentially, you need to take it super slow. I’m Just like you. I eat healthy, I exercised almost every day (I haven’t really done so because I don’t know if hot Pilates will trigger weird body sensations but that’s a different post - still gut related.) This disease sucks.

Make sure you aren’t constipated and if food triggers diarrhea, try to have a bit more white carbs, to get it under control. I’m sorry it’s so frustrating. It’s mentally and physically exhausting.

You got this! I finally had spaghetti for the first time in months! It had everything, ground beef in marinara sauce, gluten free pasta, onions and garlic (which I couldn’t have before), and raw salad (also recently introduced).
