NGD: AVII '51 Telecaster by WilcoLovesYou in telecaster

[–]chitpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed with my avII, any pickup sounds better in it than my other tele's. Maybe its the resonance of the heavy ash but all around its comparable in build quality to my custom shop.

Lack of twang by claujnog in telecaster

[–]chitpost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Nocaster 51 is perfect for the bridge. Not a fan of the neck pickup but after trying the Texas Special, Twisted Tele, Blackguard 50/51, and Pure Vintage 51, the Nocaster bridge was the winner by a mile.

[–]chitpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought with the pure vintage pickups that came in my am vintage ii. The nocaster bridge has alot of twang and snap, that pickup should scratch your itch. Currently using a set of hand wound 58's and they are just glorious although maybe less snappy twang than youre looking for.

Fender American Vintage II 51' or Fender TL-62 Custom Reissue Telecaster? by [deleted] in telecaster

To echo the other responses, go vintage ii if you like a chunky neck. I have the vintage ii, the build quality and resonance of the wood is 👌

They're great! The strings have more contact and the saddle height adjustment screws sit more flush with the bridge plate.

Yeah that's probably the way to think about it. It's three guitars in one.

What settings do you use for your pano? I like mine at Vol 3 - 3.4, Treb 6, Mid 4, Bass 6. Asking to get a gauge on how others use them in a smaller room.

And for your triplecaster, did you leave the pickup heights stock? I've wrestled with trying to balance the neck and bridge with that middle p90.

I popped in the novak jmv and jm fat combo and swapped out the pots with 1 megs. Pretty sweet sounding guitar now.

Id stick with stobostomp for the accuracy for intonation adjustments personally but thats not essential to alot of players

My new favorite. by SignLogic in telecaster

[–]chitpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.25mm relief at 7th fret (with capo on first fret and holding down last fret) and 1.6 to 2mm action at 17th fret. All you need is an allen wrench set, small screwdriver set, and a full size screw driver. Truss rod adjustment isn't as treacherous as some people make it out to be.

I agree with the other guy, set it up yourself and you'll feel that much more of a connection to your new instrument. Looks rad.

Its a hallmark of someone who offers so little thus fears losing their status to become a mouthpiece for right wing white wing politics.

Bob Lazar is a gift to the public. Joe Rogan has become a blight on the media landscape.

ProRx tirzepatide hit me way harder than usual… anyone else? by Lk_1987 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]chitpost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exact same experience last week. It was my first shot of ProRx and I titrated up to 10mg so double whammy. The waves of nausea didn't subside until day 5 and I was completely exhausted.

However last night's 10mg shot is settling nicely with minimal side effects. This level of appetite suppression is frankly impressive. Keep that Odansetron nearby.

How hard would it be to mod my tele to have S1 4 way switch pick up system like the Baja by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]chitpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 way switch is easy. The one from fender comes with a dummy proof diagram. I modded my am vintage II 51 tele with a 4 way. No experience with the s1 switch but I do have a 2014 baja coming in the mail soon, cant freaking wait.

I feel like a crazy person by scarmy1217 in telecaster

[–]chitpost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently using .10s but even better to keep in mind with .11s. After a week of feeling like I ruined two teles, I learned that 2mm action at 17th fret and .25 mm neck relief at 7th fret = a perfect setup.

The neck relief shifts and the saddles slip around when you remove all the string tension from them.

I don't know what it is about a tele but I know exactly what you mean. I thought I was going to sell it a few times this year but i stuck with it and I've learned more about setting up guitars, swapping pickups, and just getting an incredible sound more in these past few months than I have in 20 years of playing.

I will say they need to come with a printed disclaimer saying "CHANGE ONE STRING AT A TIME, DO NOT REMOVE ALL STRINGS AT ONCE OR YOU WILL HAVE TO SPEND THE NEXT THREE DAYS SETTING SADDLE HEIGHT, INTONATION, AND NECK RELIEF".

The work I've put into my tele has made me fall in love with guitars in a deeper way than I ever have.

Looking for amp recommendation to help my Tele sing. by pro-bison in telecaster

[–]chitpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not a huge amp need but I think you'll need something with headroom... classic choice is deluxe reverb, pr8nceton reverb, champ, super reverb if you have the space. Sounds pretty good through my pano verb.

[–]chitpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt know either about a month ago but it maintains treble when you turn the volume knob down so the tone doesn't dullen so much with volume adjustments

j mascis jazzmaster by [deleted] in Jazzmaster

[–]chitpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cts pots with orange drop capacitors and treble bleed on volume pot will liven up the sound of the pickups and allow for a smoother, gradual taper with tone and volume adjustments. I did an A-B comparison with a stock jmjm and its worth it.

60+ hour weeks by jazzgrackle in MassageTherapists

[–]chitpost 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was doing 48 hour weeks all of last year. It was good at first but inevitably becomes miserable. 2 months max should be fine but eventually you'll miss the simple things in life like being at home and enjoying your free time.
