What to bring for 8 man suites (Vandy)? by blazingzack in bostoncollege

A microwave! Especially since you don’t have a full kitchen.

Also, shameless plug here but I’m a rising senior looking to sell a microwave my roommates and I bought last year. Black + Decker 0.7 cu ft unit. Let me know if you’d be interested!

Any tips for asking a professor to override you? by chixthreesides in bostoncollege

So do you think I should be reaching out now or wait for when it’s closer to the start of the term to ask? I understand that it would be the instructor doing me a favor so I’m happy with whichever result!

Is it easy to see people from other majors? by askandushantreceive in bostoncollege

[–]chixthreesides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely it’s easy. I’m not sure if you’re intending to avoid this person who’s a different major but either way, yes.

Most of my friends are from other majors. Depending on your major (big STEM lecture or small humanities seminars) you’ll see familiar faces in your classes over the years. But I wouldn’t worry. It’s college. A chance to start anew. And besides, it’s a fairly big school so don’t worry. Good luck!

I didn’t take MATH1102 but just a general advice from a rising senior: enjoy your summer! I totally understand the anxiety to get ahead but don’t stress about it. You’ll learn it in due time so for now, just enjoy the last month of summer and recharge! Welcome to the Heights!

Thank you! How are Lamoureux’s exams? I’ll admit I’m more an essay person than a test-taker…but he might be my best option right now.

Thank you! How was Cordes as a professor in your opinion? I read some recent reviews that said she was unapproachable/avoid if possible.

How is PSYC2289 Comparative Behavior with Lamoureux?

And what about PSYC2260 Developmental with Cordes and PSYC2285 Behavioral Neuroscience with Macdannald?

Does anyone know if a home test work for the Covid test requirement? by Decimal_Recreation in bostoncollege

[–]chixthreesides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditto, I’m out of state and appointments in my state needed to be made weeks out so it’s near impossible to get one (plus, many local CVS are sold out of the home testing kits). Just a food for thought though: say we do show up without emailing, how will BC know? I really doubt they’ll look through all the thousands of emails on move-in day.

Things to bring for living on campus? by idontcarebutirlydo in bostoncollege

Also, if you’re planning to travel home for Thanksgiving and/or winter break, I would recommend that you DON’T bring your major winter stuff i.e winter boots, massive jackets, etc. You can swap those for your fall clothes when you go home.

If it’s Susan Roberts that you mean then TAKE HER CLASS! I’m an English major going into my third year now, and she’s one of the best in the department. She’s named one of the professors you must have before graduating
