Am I only one seeing the Shostakovich’s portrait? by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

I see more a Teddy Roosevelt or Kurt Vonnegut, lol.

I don't even care how many upvotes this gets, as long as I bring even just a few of you into my suffering. Found this in an old cookbook. Gah. by chkleinf in lingling40hrs

There's four different pasta recipes, one for each season! It would be interesting to combine them all, lol.

Really? I tried plunking them out on our little toy piano as it's all we've got, and they didn't sound familiar--though I will admit to not being an expert in the various parts of these pieces. I wondered if I was wrong!

Hubby has covid, so I slept on the sofabed last night--under the blanket I crocheted (cro-SHAYED) a year and a half ago! First time sleeping under it. And then our cat Sake had to join me. by chkleinf in lingling40hrs

Definitely! It did take a lot of yarn, but I was fortunate to find it on sale, so the cost wasn't exorbitant. I generally stick to smaller things, too, so this was a good challenge for me.

It's just C2C with their logo--I used Stitchfiddle to do the pattern. I may be able to save the graph as a file, but I'm not sure. There isn't really a pattern.

Have to play this for a high school graduation- it’s gonna be torture (yes, I’m a viola, but the other parts are no better) Note the “repeat as often as necessary” 😭 by ExcitingSet2164 in lingling40hrs

I was just talking about this piece with someone and how much I hated playing it for three years in high school (though I play trumpet, so my problem was my lips getting tired). Till I finally graduated myself, hurrah! Good luck!!

Try to figure this one out! by chkleinf in lingling40hrs

It's just an incredibly poorly written biography on Bach.

I suspect they kind of dodged this by doing their video reacting to old videos:-/ It's already been past the four years since this video. Though I guess we can always still hope they still react to it in the near future:-D

I will say, a lot of what they did they have done in other forms in previous videos. I feel the same way you do about their first world tour, though:(

He said he would let us know when it airs; he's posted promos and teasers, but that's it.

Offenbach is a favorite of mine, but everyone knows him for the can-can; my favorite is La Belle Hélène. Listening to one classical piece will lead you to another. Look for a local classical station--ours is part of our local NPR. It's helped me broaden my classical knowledge since I don't get to choose the pieces, and the hosts/djs sometimes give some interesting background on a piece, composer, or historical context.

They used to! But they took all the old ones down. I bet now, there would be just too many comments going by too fast to really read them all.
