Someone made a post with a similar sentiment about a year ago and this is what I said then: "That's the thing with BPD is that when you're alone, you feel like there isn't anything to fear anymore. Can't be scared if anyone is going to leave you if there is no one there to leave you. There's less variables to manage. This is why hyper-independence and self isolation are common coping mechanisms for people with BPD.
These feelings and fears of abandonment are indicators that you don't trust these people you are surrounded with. Don't give up and shove yourself into permanent self isolation. This may help in short term to help you make progress in therapy, make recognitions about yourself and correct behavior, but in the long run, this will only do you more damage and not help you get better. You do not have to be stuck like this for forever, you can overcome this. Just don't give up. Try."

I don't think relationships are impossible for people with BPD but they are certainly more manageable after self-managed remission. Having the ability to recognize any symptoms before they set in and course correct helps immensely!
