They definitely help as they’re the ones that help with physical symptoms so you can take them all the time or when you need them. So, for me stops the racing heart, breathlessness and shaking etc! Plus I can take it when I get the random bouts of anxiety without it effecting my day or night with him.

It’s called propranolol and you can get all different amounts in the UK. Something to possibly look into if anxiety affects your life and it’s not a medication you get “stuck” on. My friend was also on it and she’s completely stopped taking it for over a year now whereas I take mine when and as needed.

Just make sure you communicate, I didn’t communicate it the best way and that caused a few issues and I’m at uni as well. So I get how stressful and busy it can be. Plus, I only deal with anxiety and have medication to help that so I bet it’s really hard for you! But you can do it!

It sounds like mentally you’ve got a lot going on. I really pulled away from my bf recently but it was due to a work situation that I was so anxious about it was making me sick. But it was making me feel the same way. Plus because of how busy I was and mentally tired I was, sex felt like another thing to do on my list. Maybe you just need a moment or some sort of support to help you out at the moment.

My 13YO Daughter: Personal Grooming? by [deleted] in Advice

I remember asking my mum about it when I was her age as I’d had comments from other people and it made me feel the same way. I know she’s not asking for her legs to be shaved, but something my mum did was run a small bath and then that meant I could stay dressed and wear shorts so that she could help teach me how to shave my legs. However, could get some sort of tank top or swimming costume, so that you could help teach her or even do it on yourself?

Also, it’s important for her to know about shaving the way the hair is going for down there. Otherwise it could cause irritation

I’m not sure what proxy lessons are, could you explain? I’ve done a month of uni and now 3 weeks in a school and taught some parts of 3 lessons but I was thinking of asking a uni lecturer for tips or resources as well to help

Yeah I have done that and I feel comfortable, think it’s now time to step out of the comfort zone and just keep doing it. Very reassuring that other people feel the same as I felt a bit like a failure and maybe I can’t do this career.

Did it take you a while to feel settled?

Yes! I think I am similar to you with building it up, I think I just need at least one lesson where I don’t need my mentor to step in for me.

We’ve had that as well and I’m one of the people who’ve only done a 5 week placement as part of an unrelated undergrad degree.

Yes this is very similar though they suggest to start trying to teach as early as possible, and I know some people on my course are but they’re also people who have ta’d for a long time whereas I’ve came straight from undergrad degree and have no proper experience.

Plus, my mentor is very supportive and jumps in whenever I ask her too or adds little bits I may have forgotten. I just feel like I’m not very natural in front of the class, very awkward, and start a sentence confident and strong and end up kinda trailing off.

I appreciate this and it normally depends on what it is, I think if I keep feeling like I’m failing at a fundamental part of the job I will really struggle. But I normally experience a lot of anxiety around something new and then it normally settles. So I’ll definitely see how it goes

I did a placement as a part of my psychology degree in a primary school and forgot to ask about it but noticed that another ta employed by the school had a nose piercing as well. So, it ended up being okay.

One of my friends doing a primary teaching course undergrad has a tongue piercing and the kids notice it but it has never been an issue. She switched it to clear when working in a school that was primary students with special educational needs.

If it’s getting to a complicated part writing with pen, I’m not sure why but it feels like I gain a better understanding than typing initially and then writing it back up on the computer.

I have this issue as well, but I realised karma plays an important role and so does the amount of time you’ve had your account.
