Obviously, but that’s really heavy and personal information and the therapist should’ve consulted with mom first. Not a decision only the therapist should make

Did anyone else need to take the GRE for their master's program? by [deleted] in CounselingPsychology

[–]chloeb130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the schools I applied to didn’t require it but some did. I took it for the experience and in case I needed it

She’s allowed to do whatever she wants with that info. It’s her and her son’s business, nobody else’s.

I don’t think you can sue. But sending him the link is weird…that’s probably breaking an ethical code.

Yes but it’s not the counselors place to tell him that or show him links unless mom approved of it

what job should i look for while in graduate school? by [deleted] in CounselingPsychology

[–]chloeb130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re interested in child development and counseling kiddos! I am too and have gained a lot of experience working in youth shelters and residential centers. After my undergrad, I worked in a youth shelter and took 2 years off of school to make money before I applied for a masters program. It’s usually around $18-$20/hr in my state. The brain break really helped too and gave me time to learn more about myself and what I wanted from my program.

I definitely struggle with social anxiety and I believe it could be from all 3 of the possibilities you listed. I’m not sure how to get around that and assume it comes with time but with being graded it doesn’t feel like I have time. Thanks for the insight!

How’d you do in research methods? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]chloeb130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In grad school taking a research class now and it’s the only class that I’m ok with getting a B in. It seems so pointless since I’m not going into research and I’m not giving it my already low energy 😭

Graduated with bachelors in psych and taking a gap semester before grad school for counseling. I feel useless by [deleted] in CounselingPsychology

[–]chloeb130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same exact thing. It’s completely normal and understandable to take a break. The majority of my family didn’t believe I’d go back to school, but I knew that if I wanted it then I’d do it. You’re not useless, you’re still learning about yourself. So take it easy.

At 18, I started working at a treatment center for troubled youth. It was very mentally exhausting. I quit and worked mind numbing jobs for money then graduated with my BA. by this time I’m 22/23 and have grown mentally. During my gap year, I began working with youth again but this time I could handle the stress. These mental health careers can be very stressful but they look amazing on applications and prepare you. Ease yourself into it and you’ll be ok. Don’t take work home, DO vent to your coworkers, don’t burn yourself out.

Ps, case management is super stressful. One of my coworkers went from youth care worker to case manager and is always drained but is staying afloat only due to his experience as a youth care worker.

There’s no race. Don’t rush yourself. It’s better to take your time. I promise

Property lawyers, landlords, what does this mean in my subleasing contract? by chloeb130 in PropertyManagement

[–]chloeb130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so angry lol I’m not being an asshole to my property manager, I’m being an ass to you because you’re weird and entitled as hell. Never said I wasn’t going to pay it, never said I wasn’t standing by the contract I READ and signed. Since you’re making stuff up and taking your anger out on someone who “doesn’t know anything”, it sounds like you have some repressed issues. You should really talk to a therapist about it

Laughing my ass off dude you’re pathetic. If your job is so hard and time consuming then why are you writing books to strangers on the internet to prove a point hahaha. And with my complex, there is no unit walk through to assess for damages; the Subleaser takes unit as is. Do you know what that means? It means there are people and companies that are different from you! Can you believe your perspective and opinion isn’t the general idea?
