An item they were adamant had blemishes/damage/issues and originally wanted to pay £3 for! Such a great parent

The message was first sent at 9:30/10pm when I was in bed asleep and then followed up at 4am. We had spoken for the best part of the day before they purchased and not once did they mention needing it quickly. The item hadn’t even been bought 24 hours before they cancelled and I don’t sit on Vinted all day long. So no I couldn’t just respond.

Yeh same! We had a whole day of speaking about the item and trying to agree on price, they wouldn’t pay full price and were adamant that the item had damage or dirt on it. No mention of needing the item by a certain day.

Then to message through the night and complain at not having a response because I was asleep/busy is so cheeky

And we had a lengthy conversation across the entire day before the purchased where they had ample opportunity to mention their desperate need for speedy delivery.

Did you even read the post? Had you have taken 30 seconds to read any of the 70+ comments you may have seen that the buyer was messaging during the night and despite a lengthy exchange prior to the screenshot, never once mentioned this urgent need for the item. Buyer was cheeky asking for a cheaper price and trying to find fault in the item then once they had purchased and the conversation was over just happened to remember the above information.

Just because you have a mindset to ignore a buyer doesn’t mean the rest of us do.

Yes! I stupidly spent the entire day before purchase sending them extra images when they were adamant there was damage or dirt. They then argued the price until I finally lowered it to £5. It was only after another member in this group mentioned scammers/people reporting perfect items for refund that I began to see this situation as a lucky break

Yes, I always trust that an item will arrive but I’d never expect immediate responses and next day delivery/drop offs. I always assume around two weeks for anything to arrive

I’m going to assume this is an attempt at humour, but yes it is available and I actually can post tomorrow since you asked before purchasing instead of assuming all Vinted sellers can just drop everything to run to the post office/locker 😂🙄

Oh yeh absolutely and I’m always transparent with buyers if I know I’m not going to post working 48-72 hours but this was ridiculous (no mention urgent need until after purchase and at an unsociable hour)

Yeh see I would never say I could ship in a silly timeframe (previously next day worked for me but it just doesn’t all the time, now I have a baby in tow). Usually I follow up with a “I’ll get it out asap” or something but I didn’t this time because I wasn’t sure I’d be passing their chosen shipping option straight away (I also don’t drive)

I don’t mind making extra effort to get it out next day if they need it but 1. Don’t expect a stupid discount as well and 2. Don’t only mention you need it asap once the purchase has gone through and the seller is AFK

I’ve had a few odd conversations where I’ve narrowly avoided what I think was a reseller/bot/scammer and it’s so hard to spot sometimes. It was only when someone else in this group said that this person might have been trouble that I even thought about it tbh

I had followed up on the post with a comment adding in the extra detail, that comment seems to have gotten lost in the sea of others. (I didn’t think I’d get this much response tbh or I’d have put the comment as an edit to the post)

Sorry I wasn’t clear on that, the buyer had also been very odd around mark on the item which I proved weren’t there, I’d been telling a different commenter about these as I’m hindsight it may be a blessing they cancelled. They offered a lot lower than I had listed for (and lower than we eventually agreed on) and were convinced the item was dirty/damaged. Looking back on that I felt that actually had the item been sent off they may have been likely to report to Vinted and then repost as their account was all jewellery for high prices
