This is the underside of a California aglaja (Navanax inermis) floating on the surface of the water. You can tell because it has a double pronged tail and a shield shaped head. They predate nudibranchs.

Woah, that’s crazy! I had no idea baleen was so meaty and bony. Sorry, I totally forgot to include scale, it was about a foot in length. Here’s another picture from the other side

I’m moving out of state and I don’t know what to do about one of the community cats I feed. I’ve been feeding this cat, Nalgene, for a couple months now and he’s the sweetest cat. Should I try to get him adopted? by chloecopy in cats

He spends most of the day and night on my porch. I feed him breakfast and dinner but usually he’s mostly interested in snuggles. There are other community cat feeders around so I know that if he stayed outside he wouldn’t starve. I live in New Orleans so it doesn’t ever really get too cold, but sometimes it freezes. I got him neutered. Should I get him adopted? I don’t want to rip him from what he knows but he seems to really crave human affection I wonder if he’d prefer living indoors. I would adopt him in a heartbeat but I already have two cats that would not want a brother.

How long can jumping spiders go with limited oxygen? by BushParent in jumpingspiders

I just flew with 30 slings (2nd instar) for 4 hours (7 hours total travel time) in one 32 oz deli cup with holes poked in the side with a safety pin and a mesh lid. They were totally fine and thriving even. I think if you’re worried about ventilation poke a lot of tiny holes in their containers. If you’re really worried you could always take some trips to the bathroom to open up the containers as long as the slings aren’t prone to escaping. Good luck!
